Well i was at Aviansies slaying away like ive done for the past few weeks. anyway to get to the point. The guy killing with me went down to low hp, suddenly whipped out an SgS and specced twice to restore his hp and prayer fully. So could this be a good method of training Ranged? a spec bar taked like 3minutes to fill up, that means you only have to survive 3 minutes. best thing about this is that you will have unlimmited food and prayer for 10% ranged prayer. this would mean faster kills. Any thoughts on this?

I'm sure you can't fully depend on the sgs in cases of getting hit somewhat hard, and I seriously doubt he fully restored his prayer. But yes, that is a great option if you can afford it.

You restore prayer from the godsword too so it is very useful.

It problay wont restore enough to maintain 10% maybe 5% though and you can miss.

With 70 Prayer 10% Prayer lasts for 7minutes. That means ill just have to restore Prayer every snd spec so i'm sure it will still work.

You don't need to use the 10% prayer. When you get to low health, use range prayer until the spec comes back.

Like you said in your guide though, you should get the Enhanced Excalibur. With the SGS you can have a bad spec on the monsters and not gain any hp/prayer. Apart from not getting the boost, it seems like a good way to do it. The EE is a guaranteed 20 hp and def boost.

There plenty of over monsters that can be attacked with melee though, both in the Eyrie and outside.

LIKE AMG. Now I are hanink to mooove 3 squares away from avionie to leik hit anothar montsar. It are leik sooch a haslte.

 

 

 

Seriously dude. It takes like 3 seconds to find a melee-able monster.

Its one of the best spec weapons for avis.

 

The cheaper/other options are goblin mace and Excalibur (both versions).

I've been doing the same thing :) I don't even bring bunyips anymore, just range pots and 1 shark for emergencies.

fyi, spec bar takes 5 minutes to recharge.

 

Using EE, you can only take 4 damage per minute, which won't keep alot of people healed at Aviansies

It's only a good idea if you'll be at avis for a long time, otherwise for short term, it's a waste of time buying it..

Having slayed 99 range with slayer and an sgs ill tell you this:

 

 

 

at 70 prayer with void/zammybook/fury (10 pray bonus) you can 5% pray every task for free with sgs. 10% will require 2-6 ppots depending on the task. depending on the task id use 5 or 10% 5% on things like fire giants or greater demons, 10% on black demons or abyssal demons as an example.

 

 

 

with a unicorn and sgs and a few pizzas, super def pot you can tank most every slayer task with void zammy book at 99 def.

 

 

 

 

 

i know your not talking about slayer here, but the concepts the same. if you were to wear full arma, fury, zammy book, fury. or a verac helm instead of arma helm. (14-17 pray bonus) you could probly camp avs for a very very long time with 10% prayer with an sgs. A unicorn would be very useful here since zammy book is mainly for pray bonus and a bit of range. or a sara book i suppose. For a ring probly a explorers ring 3 as the extra pray point would probly out do 4 range bonus of archers ring in this situation. maybe even white boots for pray bonus.

I heard that using pray method and running in the bossroom altar works too..... as long as you're on a ls world =p. Obby rings and prayer method might work well, lesser profits yet very fast killz

Haha yeah was kinda me and SirHemes that though that up. I wrote a magin guide about that. Thats very annoying though because finding a world with an Arma team on it is hard.

WOW thanks for a VERY usefull post. This actually makes me want to get 88 Summoning. I guess i could switch the Zammy Book with a DFS to make it even a bit better.
