WELCOME!!! THIS IS MY GUIDE ON WAYS TO GET 99 WOODCUTTING!!

Inside is information you may or may not have seen before. I have gone into detail on experience per log and done experience per hour. I hope this is to your liking because you are my critics.

So what are you waiting for?? Go on.. have a read :)

1. INTRODUCTION

[hide=Intro]Hello, my name is Anthony L 99... Well at least on RuneScape it is

This is my guide on how to get 99 Woodcutting I will be making this guide gradually adding bits here and there as i see fit. I will also make sure i put in plenty of pictures (but not too much) to make this guide a bit of pleasing to the eye.

Just a little bit about me: I have been playing for roughly 3 to 4 years just overly enjoying the game. My friends got me into this game and once i surpassed them in almost all levels it became about the time where they all basically quit. So i did for basically 6 months to 1 year. Anyway, once i made my return i had 3 friends on my friends list so if you read this guide and like it(LOL!!!) i would be happy if you could add me :) Makes the game a lot more enjoyable with friends :)

Woodcutting is an enjoyable and peacefull skill to raise. Either socialising with friends or friends to be or just relaxing while knowing you are making money and increasing your level.

Woodcutting is one of the easiest stats. Retreive axe, click, wait and move onto the next tree. The problem is, for all things that are easy; take a lot of time or at least an above average amount of time. Woodcutting is one of the skills which harvest RAW INGREDIENTS which if sold at the right time to the right people can make a great profit! E.g. Cut Maple logs (raw ingredient) to fuel other skills such as Fletching, Firemaking and Construction. So cutting the right Raw Ingredients can see you make a profit beyond what most other skills can. But like mentioned above, it takes time... and a lot of it... usually with a lot of people there..

So hopefully in you reading all of this you enjoy reading this guide and end up adding me :P[/hide]

2. TYPES OF AXES

[hide=Axes]Axes are your friend. They are basically 1 of 2 things you need to train the Woodcutting skill (the other beign trees) As you progress in levels so does the axe reliability and efficiency and sadly also the cost with the most expensive axe (members) shooting past 1.5M. It is entirely up to you, the player to which axe you want to Woodcut with but almost 100% of the time the most readily available axe is the best (e.g. your lv 35 using a Steel axe switch to Adamant as it is the next best and will help the production rate).

Bronze Axe: Level 1 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to Wield: 1 Attack

bronzeaxe.gif

The Bronze axe is basic. As basic as it gets. New players receive this axe when they finish training at Tutorial Island and reach the Inland. You can smith them as with just about all axes, you can buy one from Bob in Lumbridge and the Woodcutting tutor will suply you with one if you do not have one.

Iron Axe: Level 1 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to Weild: 1 Attack

ironaxe.gif

The Iron Axe is almost exactly like the bronze. Different colour and only a tiny teeny bit better. These too can be bought from Bob's Axe shop in Lumbridge and also can be smithed. I would suggest using the Iron Axe until level 6 when you can use the Steel Axe.

Steel Axe: Level 6 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to Weild: 5 Attack

steelaxe.gif

The Steel Axe is a considerable amount better than both the Bronze and Iron axes. It is still a pretty basic axe for the early part of the Woodcutting skill but is useful in its own terms. This too can be bought from Bob's Axe shop in Lumbridge and again it can be Smithed by players.

Black Axe: Level 6 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to weild: 10 Attack

blackaxe.gif

Almost the exact same as the Steel Axe. Maybe a little bit better in the Woodcutting department. Really not worth even using if you are a Woodcutting pure or a skiller because of the little performance difference. Although most Black items are semi-rare to find this is not, it can be bought from the Grand Exchange pretty easily. It is double the attack level to weild than a Steel Axe. You cannot buy at a store, you cannot smith this weapon. Really no point in my opinion.

Mithril Axe: Level 21 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to Weild: 20 Attack

mithrilaxe.gif

The Mithril Axe is a step forward in the Woodcutting industry. It is much better than the Steel and Black Axe, a LOAD BETTER than the Iron and Bronze Axe. You should use this axe as soon as you hit 21 Woodcutting. But it almost becomes redundant when you hit Willows anyway. But it is good for the time being, i would almost bet doubling the production rate that a Steel Axe produced. As with the rest of the axes they can be Smithed.

Adamant Axe: Level 31 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to Weild: 30 Attack

adamantaxe.gif

Adamant Axes are even better than Mithril. Like i said in the above Axe that once you hit Willows you basically have an Adamant Axe so there is really no excuse in not buying these if you are going to cut Willows. They are much better than Mithril. Easily making it much more efficient but there are still far better axes. Again like the rest, it can be smithed by players.

Rune Axe: Level 41 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to Weild: 40 Attack

runeaxe.gif

The Rune Axe is currently the best Axe known to man... In F2P. Everybody who is Level 41+ Woodcutting use this axe. I am currently still using this axe and it will be your best friend most likely all the way untill 99. I am still currently using this axe. It does the job efficiently. As with ALL the past axes (except for the Black Axe of course:P) it can be smithed by players.

MEMBERS AXES:

Volatile/Sacred Axe: Level 40 Woodcutting required to use. Minimum

Level to Weild: 40 Attack

Obtained through: Stealing Creation. See a Stealing Creation guide for more information.

volatileaxe.png

I have never used this axe nor have ever gone to do the MiniGame. I heard if gives you double the experience but also breaks after a certain time using or a certain amount of logs cut. Personally have never tried this axe... :|

Dragon Axe: Level 61 Woodcutting required to use.

Level to Weild: 60 Attack

dragonaxe.gif

This is pretty much the best axe you can get in terms of speed. Mind you i have never tried the Inferno Adze so im not sure if that is faster. You can buy this from players or get it from a Dagganoth King drop (rare). It is worth a good 1,700,000+ coins (1.7M) and is said to be 10-15% more efficient than a Rune Axe. A very wise choice to use this axe on higher level trees such as Yew or Magic in the Members world. 90% of people who cut Yews and Magic tree use this axe.

Inferno Adze: Level 61 Woodcutting required to use. Level 92 Firemaking and all beacons lit after "All Fired Up" quest completetion.

Level to Weild: 1 Attack

infernoadze.gif

In terms of xp per hour i would say this gives maximum but i do not know the speed in which it cuts. Why would i say this gives maximum xp? Well this burns logs as it cuts meaning that you ultimately cut more than an inventory of 28, you may cut 32 which means you have 4 more logs of xp per inventory. But as i said i don't know how fast it cuts. But i have heard it rivals the Dragon Axe. This Axe doubles as a Pickaxe for mining.[/hide]

3. TREES AND LEVELS YOU CAN CUT

[hide=Types of Trees]Normal Tree: Level 1

Recommended Axe: Any

Recommended Lv: Any (You have to start on it)

Experience per hour: 20-25k?

normaltree.gifnormallogs.gifNormal Tree Logs

These trees are found all throughout RuneScape. The run-of-the-mill tree. You can make a profit almost right away on this tree by cutting them at Lumbridge with the axe you start off with then selling them at the nearby general store OR bank them and use for Construction, Fletching (Members only) or Firemaking. Not really much else to say about this tree. Once you hit level 15 you will want to move onto Oak Trees anyway.

Oak Tree: Level 15

Recommended Axe: Steel/Black. When you hit 21 go to Mithril.

Recommended lv: 15-30 (Untill Willows)

Experience per hour: Roughly 30-35k

oaktree.gifoaklogs.gifOak Tree Logs

The Oak Tree is quite a good tree to start cutting as soon as you hit Level 15. You can Fletch it for even better experience than Normal Logs and obviously burn it for more experience than Normal. Makes quite a good material for Construction and many people will buy it for Market Price or just a little over. I have seen people cut this tree even into its mid 40's for the fact that Willows don't sell as good as they used to.

Willow Tree: Level 30

Recommended Axe: Mithril. When you hit 31 go to Adamant until 41.

Recommended lv: 30-60 (Yews), 30-75 (Magics), 30-99 (Skill Mastery)

Experience per hour: 45-55k

willowtree.gifwillowlogs.gifWillow Tree Logs

Willow Trees are the best and fastest xp on your way to 99 in the Free-To-Play worlds. They aren't the best material for money however they are relatively good experience for Firemaking and Fletching. The logs they produce have a difficult time selling on the Grand Exchange but are still favoured as one of the best and fastest ways to 99 Woodcutting. As good as these trees are i still do not cut them because usually there is competition for trees on most to all worlds, especially Free World where almost a dozen people can show up.

Teak Tree: Level 35

Recommended Axe: Adamant. When you hit 41 go to Rune.

Recommended lv: 35-60 (Yews), 30-75 (Magics), 30-99 (Skill Mastery)

Experience per hour: 60-75k

teaktree.gifteaklogs.gifTeak Tree Logs

This tree is a god. THE FASTEST WAY TO 99 KNOWN TO RUNESCAPE VIRTUAL MAN. The only downsides are they are Members only and no banks are nearby from the locations of the trees except one place. There is 1 lone tree South of Castle Wars which is the closest a Teak Tree gets to a bank. There are about 9 Trees in the Tai Bwo Wannai Village but to cut the Trees and use the Pen they are in you need to have finished "Jungle Potion" and done the "Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup" Minigame. You are able to package the Teak logs for 10 Trading Stick per Log and to Enter the pen it costs 100 trading stick. Another location is Three Trees on the Ape Atoll which you can cut as an Ape, this nullifies all random Events and stop Poisonous creatures attacking you.

Maple Tree: Level 45

Recommended Axe: Rune

Recommended lv: 45-60 (Yews), 45-99 (Fletching or Firemaking ingredients + Skill Mastery)

Experience per hour:40-45k

mapletree.gifmaplelogs.gifMaple Tree Logs

Maples tree can be found just about all places on Runescape in the Members world. Although they ARE a members tree their logs can be bough/sold and burnt in Free-To-Play worlds. They warrant decent experience per hour and are pretty good value for the time they take to cut. But in the seek for 99 Woodcutting pace is the key so this is not a tree that you would like to cut from the available level to 99.

Mahogany Tree: Level 50

Recommended Axe: Rune

Recommended lv: 50-60 (Yews) 50-80 (Construction, Firemaking)

Experience per hour: Roughly 50k

mahoganytree.gifmahoganylogs.gifMahogany Tree Logs

These can be found in the Hardwood Grove area by Tai Bwo Wannai, the same village as you can find the 9 Teak trees. Players must pay 100 trading sticks to the owner outside the grove each time they enter the area where the trees are. They are incredibly useful for Construction and can catch a fair price on the Grand Exchange.

Eucalyptus Tree: level 58

Recommended Axe: Rune

Recommended lv: 58-75 (Magics), 58-99 (Construction, Firemaking, Skill Mastery)

Experience per hour: 45k

eucalyptustree.gifeucalyptuslogs.gifEucalyptus tree Logs

Eucalyptus trees are a lovely colour. I actually enjoy the look fo the tree itself. They are good Firemaking experience and fairly decent Woodcutting experience. Im not exactly sure where the precise and best locations are for this tree yet, but they will be explained in my guide a bit later on :P I know one place called Oo'glog where they can be found and cut. Used mainly for Construction these sell for a good 200+ coins. They are much cheaper than Yews and grant similar Firemaking experience. Commonly used for Pyre logs.

Yew Tree: Level 60

Recommended Axe: Rune. When you hit 61 and have enough Money Dragon helps a bit.

Recommended lv: 65-80 (Magics), 65-99 (Skill Mastery, Money)

Experience per hour: 25-30k

yewtree.gifyewlogs.gifYew Tree Logs

This tree is in my opinion not too bad. It is pretty popular as a Fletching and Firemaking tool. A fair few people cut it but the level required isn't too high. The logs dont sell for too much but its better than most. The only down part is people cut these for Fletching or Money, not for the experience. The experience gained is horrible for a tree that is pretty available. Still, it is the best tree in F2P

Magic Tree: Level 75

Recommended Axe: Rune/Dragon

Recommended lv: 80-85 (To start off), 80-90 (Firemaking), 90-99 (Skill Mastery)

Experience per hour: 30k

magictree.gifmagiclogs.gifMagic Tree Logs

These trees are beautiful. They are the only trees which move (ents are now not part of a random event). Well not move so to speak, they shimmer. Even the logs shimmer when on the ground. This tree even though it is lovely, the experience is ugly as sin. Granting only a smidgin on what you could possibly get. Why is it mentioned that you can cut it from 90-99? Well, these logs are a pretty decent money maker. Selling from around 1200-1300gp per log.[/hide]

4. TREES AND MAJOR LOCATIONS

[hide=Normal Trees]Normal Trees are found everywhere. This is a good little spot(s) close to three banks. Lumbridge Castle Basement, Lumbridge Castle Roof, Draynor. This spot also has Yew trees there. The Tree symbols are the Yew Trees. Available at level 60 Woodcutting.

majornormaltreecopy.png[/hide]

[hide=Oak Trees]Oak Trees are pretty common again. But not as common as Normal trees :P They are pretty handy trees because some locations put them close to a bank

This spot next to Draynor bank works pretty well. Just watch out for the Guard who inhabit the area around the "! Exclamation Mark" They are aggressive and will attack if you are equal to or under their level

oakmajor.png

The spot next to varrock bank is another good spot. There are roughly 3-5 Oak Trees in the spot. Trouble is some people can be here more than many other spots.

oakmajor2.png[/hide]

[hide=Willow Trees]Willow Trees are hugely popular among people going for 99. Both in freeworld and members world. Many of the most popular parts of the map with Willow trees.

In the Members world the Barbarian Village is a pretty popular spot to be in. There is a bank deposit box inside the building right next door to bank.

willowtreelocations2.png

Draynor is the most known place for Willows. Pretty straightforward, right next to a bank which is good but it seems to be a little bit overcrowded. This is probably the best place for Willows on a F2P server.

willowtreelocation.png

Just West of Catherby isn't another bad place, close to a bank, ot so crowded because of the Yews nearby, but it again is a members world. This is one of the better places in the Members world because it is close to a bank and more trees that you may want to cut.

willowtreelocation3i.png[/hide]

[hide=Teak Trees]Teaks are THE BEST and FASTEST way to 99 Woodcutting. Problem is the locations are very remote. The two best locations i can find are listed below with the last location being 1 lone tree behind Castle Wars, hardly worth the effort..

Ape Atoll. This is where i am at the moment. Three Teak Trees within they Yellow shaded area. Problem is there is no bank but only a general Store way above in the Monkey Village. Its best to drop them on the ground here.

teak.png

The Tai Bwo Wannai Village is another place where you can cut Teaks. Problem is this. You need Trading Sticks to get into the Yellow box where the 9 Teak trees are. You need to have Finished the quest "Jungle Potion". Need to have finished the "Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup" Minigame and if you want to package them (the person floating around the red area) you need 10 Trading sticks per Teak log.

teaks2.png[/hide]

[hide=Maple Trees]Maple Trees are a good tree. Nice and.. er.. orange-y. These trees can be used as a better Firemaking and Fletching tool that Woodcutting really. The locations are pretty close to a bank. They are all around RuneScape members and are pretty noticable from their distinct Orange colour on the Radar in the Top Right hand corner.

There is a spot next to the Legends guild which is pretty handy. As you can see that the trees are Orange. this allows you to easily spot which trees are Maple as you run along.

maple2.png

The two Yellow spots show the Maples both ABOVE and BELOW the bank of Seers Village (Camelot Bank) This is a very popular spot though and you MAY find a fair bit of people cutting at the same time. Also the fact people burn logs along the road can get annoying if you dont like the tssssssssstss noise.

maplel.png[/hide]

[hide=Mahogany Trees]Mahogany Trees grant pretty good experience but the spot i found here is great! Too bad its no where near a bank.

WILL UPDATE MORE MAHOGANY SPOTS AS I SEE THEM

mahogany.png[/hide]

[hide=Eucalyptus Trees]The best place that i have heard is Oo'Glog. I have personally never cut Eucalyptus but i head they are pretty good in both experience and money.

19707085.png[/hide]

[hide=Yew Trees]Here are 4 great locations for Yews. They are all usually crowded. This is almost self explanitory as they are all real close to banks.

Just West of Catherby Bank

yews1.png

South of Seers Village (Camelot) bank is just slightly North

yews2.png

South of Falador. This one was popular when all the Macros were there.

yews3.png

East of Grand Exchange. This is a pretty popular place for F2P people as it is pretty close to a quick bank and a quick market place.

yews4.png

Another spot pointed out by Pinkbullet3 is Edgeville. This has 2 trees and is pretty damn close to a bank. One of the better spots in F2P but can be more popular then you think. I have seen a max of about 6 people there at one time.

yews5.png

The last spot i can think of that is relatively good is where all those Normal trees i pointed out where. At the back of Lumbridge castle. There are plenty more places where there are Yew Trees but those four above where the best i could think of near a bank.[/hide]

[hide=Magic Trees]Magic Trees are the trees you want to cut!

For money that is. They are terrible for Experience but good for Money and Fletching. Firemaking is pointless, mosewell just drop all your money and watch it dissapear.

First place is Tiranwn. This place is near the Lleyta bank but can only be accessed durign regicide or after the quest.

Pro: Not crowded, Peaceful, 2-3 Trees

Cons: Annoying to get to, Bank can be difficult to navigate to.

magic3z.png

Second spot is the Sorcerers Tower. This is where the most Magic Trees in one spot are. The bottom Yellow Patch hold 4 magic Trees whereas the upper one hold 3. The Top Yellow patch is closest to the Seers bank (Camelot) and the lower Yellow Patch is closest to the Legends Guild Bank (green square). If one can not get to the Green Bank Square, no matter, it is still close to the Camelot Bank.

magic1.png

The last place is the Tree Gnome Stronghold. It holds one Magic Tree (Yellow) which is far from the bank.. Not really worth visiting this place. the Blue Suqares represent the Yew trees that are there. Good, its close to a bank but the lone Magic tree is really not worth it..

magic2.png[/hide]

5. MISCELLANEOUS TREES AND JUNGLE

[hide=Trees]Name: Evergreen Tree

Woodcutting required:1

Experience Per Log: 25

evergreentree.gif

The Evergreen tree can be found just about everywhere. A place i remember better than most is next to the Body and Mind Runecrafting locations and near the Monastary next to Edgeville. They are exactly the same as Normal Trees and give off the same logs.

Name: Achey Tree

Woodcutting required: 1

Experience Per Log: 25

acheytree.gifacheylogs.gifAchey Tree Logs

The Achey Tree is found in Feldip Hills. Waaaaaaaay down south of Yanille. Can be found all over the palce down there and i think can only be cut during and after the Big Chompy Bird Hunting quest.

Name: Dead Tree

Woodcutting required: 1

Experience Per Log: 25

deadtree.gif

Plain and simple dead trees. They give the same experience as Normal, Achey and Evergreen Trees and give the same logs as Normal. They are cuttable but dont look to good. There is a fair few near Draynor Manor.

Name: Light Jungle.

Woodcutting required: 10

Experience Per Log: 32

lightjungle.giflightjunglecutoff.gifLight Jungle Spar

Found all over karamja near the Shiloh Village and the Tai Bwo Wannai Village. You need Machette's to cut these... er.. ahh small jungle collections. You don't get logs for these things but you do get Spars depending on what density jungle you cut. They give off ok experience but still not real good in my opnion.

Name: Medium Jungle

Woodcutting required: 20

Experience Per Log: 55

mediumjungle.gifmediumjunglecutoff.gifMedium Jungle Spar

Again found all over karamja near the Shiloh Village and Tai Bwo Wannai Village. Again need a Machette to cut these. They are decent experience for lv the you need to cut them. Mainly cut in the Tai Bwo wannai Cleanup MiniGame.

Name: Dense Jungle

Woodcutting required: 35

Experience Per Log: 80

densejungle.gifdensejunglecutoffl.gifDense Jungle Spar

Lastly of the Jungles is the Dense Jungle. Gives you some wicked experience for the level you need to cut. For fast cutting use a Red Topaz machette or a Jade Machette. One of the higher class Jungles again found in Karamja and yet again cut in the Tai Bwo Wannai Vilage Cleanup minigame.

Name: Hollow Tree

Woodcutting required: 45

Experience Per Log: 82.5

hollowtree.gifhollowtreebark.gifHollow Tree Bark

These trees are all over Morytania Swamps. These trees aren't to bad experience but because of the remote location and in the swamp crawling with enemies like Leeches they aren't too preffered to chop. Plus you need to have finished Priest in Peril quest to enter Morytania. The Hollow bark cut is used to make SplitBark armour which is a Magic Armour with one of the highest defence rates.

Name: Arctic Pine

Woodcutting required: 54

Experience Per Log: 40

arcticpinetree.gifarcticpine.gifArctic Pine Logs

Most cut for the Firemaking experience they give. Horrible woodcutting experience for the level required to cut these trees. Also used in the Fremminik Isles quest for the purpose of making Fremmenik Sheilds. Found on the island side of Neitiznot. I do not see many people cutting these logs for any other purpose than for logs to use for the skill Firemaking. Not really worth the effort trying to get there and cut.[/hide]

6. CANOES

[hide=Canoes]Ahh yes Canoes. They do grant Woodcutting experience but i personally would not use these to get to 99. But they do grant experience so i am going to put them in here. They grant means of transportation around RuneScape but to me it is so insignificant i would not care to stop and try. Buuuuut i had to. If i wanted to find out how much experience you gain from these... things..

They look like this..

canoerack.gif

When you cut down the tree for the Canoes you will be greeted with a screen like this.

canoes.png

Chose which Canoe you would like

Canoes are found in these locations: They are usually guarded by a single person by the canoe station.

* Lumbridge: On the east side of the river a bit south of the house where Goblins respawn. Barfy Bill (nice name son) is at this canoe station.

* Champions Guild: On the east side of the river west of the wheat field. Tarquin is at this canoe station.

* Barbarian Village: South of the eastern bridge on the east side of the river. Just above Draynor Manor or near that area. Sigurd is at this canoe station.

* Edgeville: On the east side of the river near the guard post. Hari is at this canoe station.

* Level 35 Wilderness: At the lake south of the Moss Giants. Players can only travel to this location. They can not travel back from this location. Also players cannot teleport from this level in the Wilderness.

When you have found a canoe tree at one of these stations you must cut the tree down. You then have to click on the fallen tree and select what type of canoe you want to make. You can only make some canoes depending on your Woodcutting level and i have heard that you can stuff up if you have a low level Canoes. When you have made the canoe you want, you can click on the canoe to push it in the river. When in the river, you can click on the canoe and select where you want to go. SIMPLE!!!

NOTE: You can not take a canoe if you have a familiar.

TYPES OF CANOES.

There are certain types of Canoes. Below is the Woodcutting level you need to make this Canoe and also the durability of it (which depends on you Woodcutting level again). Obviously the higher your Woodcutting level the better Canoes you can make hence the higher durability rate.

There are 4 types of Canoes you can make. PS> Sorry for the bad pictures. If the canoes look the same i can try to get some better ones.

Name: Log Canoe

Woodcutting Required: 12

Experience Gained: 30

Locations: Can only travel to one station away from where the player made it. Cannot enter the wilderness.

LOG CANOE

logcanoe.png

Name: Dugout Canoe

Woodcutting Required: 27

Experience Gained: 60

Locations: Can travel up to two stations away from where the player made it. Cannot enter the wilderness.

DUGOUT CANOE

dugoutcanoe.png

Name: Stable Dugout Canoe

Woodcutting Required: 42

Experience Gained: 90

Locations: Can travel up to three stations away from where the player made it. Cannot enter the wilderness.

STABLE DUGOUT CANOE

stabledugout.png

Name: Wakka canoe

Woodcutting Required: 57

Experience Gained: 150

Locations: Can travel to any station. Can enter the wilderness. WARNING: You cannot teleport from where the Canoe travels into the wilderness.

WAKKA CANOE

7. EQUIPMENT

[hide=Equipment]There is not many peices of equipment that one can use to aid themselves in Woodcutting. Currently the best known is Lumberjack. Which can be obtained through the Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble MiniGame/Mini Quest in which you must kill the Lumberjacks toget their clothing.

Undead Lumberjacks can reach up to level 70 combat. They look like this:

undeadlumberjack9.gif

NOTE:The player can receive only ONE piece of clothing per event; repeatedly killing the lumberjacks after the player receives a piece of clothing in the same event is pointless.

I have personally not got them because it is boring and i have heard the significance in the experience you can get is to insignificant for the time it takes to get the clothing. But it doesn't look half bad. So i may end up with this soon.

The MiniGame instructions can be found here:http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=temple_trekking.htm. This MiniGame can be started after you have met the requirement for the following quests.

KEEP IN MIND YOU NEED 44 WOODCUTTING TO WEAR THIS CLOTHING.

* Priest In Peril: Must have Completed Quest.

* Nature Spirit: Must have at least Started Quest.

* In Search of the Myreque: Must have Completed Quest.

* In Aid of the Myreque: Must have Completed Quest.

The equipment looks like this:

lumberjackhat.gif Lumberjack Hat which solely grants a x0.4 xp %age. Depending on log.

lumberjacktop.gif Lumberjack Body which solely grants a x0.8 xp %age. Depending on log.

lumberjacklegs.gif Lumberjack Legs which solely grants a x0.6 xp %age. Depending on log.

lumberjackboots.gif Lumberjack Boots which solely grants a x0.2 xp %age. Depending on log.

Although the total Percentage of this armour only equals up to 2% the equipment when a whole grants a bonus of 2.5% per log. If you are confused about the Experience rates please look below.

[hide=MMain logs and xp bonuses.]All these below show what TOTAL EXPERIENCE YOU WILL RECIEVE IF YOU HAVE FULL LUMBERJACK ON!!!!

Basically if i screw something up and you can't understand what i have done just read the RED below.

The bonus works on how much xp 2.5% is of the log you are cutting. So the forumula is

Normal Log XP(x) + 2.5% of x = TOTAL EXPERIENCE GIVEN (y)

In numbers:

25(x) + 2.5% of 25 (which equals 0.625) = 25+0.625

OR

25 + 0.625 = 25.625

Normal Log: Level 1 Woodcutting.

Normal Experience: 25

Lumberjack Bonus Experience: 0.625

Total Experience: 25.625

8. FAMILLIARS

[hide=Familliars]Ahh Familliars. We all are, well, familliar with familliars ::' Unfortunately if you are a level 3 skiller i would encourgae you NOT TO use the Familliars as Summoning does raise youre combat level and if you want to maintain the authentic feel of a true level 3 skiller, steer clear of this section!!

Right. We all know what Familliars do. They aid us. Ever single familliar is unique in its own way. Im forgetting and just mentioning the ones that help your Woodcutting stat:

NOTE: All familliar i am basing on the fact that you MAKE these yourself NOT purchase them.

* Skill Booster: These little baby's silently boost your skill. Which is excellent! A Beaver (Lv 33 Summoning) enhances your Woodcutting level by 2 or so. So if you were 95 Woodcutting you would cut like a level 97!!! Thats pretty good. If your 99 Woodcutting, operate your cape and have a Skill Booster the minimum you would have is around the 102/103 Woodcutting lv. makes a difference.

* Beast of Burden: These fellas help a lot. If you didn't get what it means by the name i suggest you get a dictionary. These guys carry your items for you. Well, not all of them, just some. Obviously the higher Summoning level you have the higher the burden your beast can carry. From the simple Spirit kalphite or BullAnt to the all might Pack Yack.

*Forager: These guys... er... forage stuff... :| Which means they will collect their own little items. Since my Summoning level is currently only 25 i haven't got to experiment with different kinds of Familliars who forage but i heard the Beaver (level 33 Summoning) forages as well as boosts your skill. Usually it is pointless stuff like Oak Logs or Normal Logs. Im guessing if the Forages stuff like Magic Logs you would see them everywhere.

Ok now lets take a look at the Familliars and their specialty. We are going to go in order of level needed and from the list above:

SKILL BOOSTERS:

Familliar Name: Beaver

Summoning lv: 33 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Skill Booster (+2 Woodcutting levels) Forager (5 Spots, Forages Oak to Yew logs and Planks of wood)

beaver.gif

Apart from invisibly boosting your Woodcutting skill by 2, it can also be used as a knife for Fletching purposes and can forage up 13 planks and logs that it stores for a player's withdrawal. Beavers forage up to Yew logs and Oak planks. Players can not Deposit, only Withdraw.

THIS UNIQUE FAMILLIAR IS CLASSED BOTH A FORAGER AND SKILL BOOSTER. SO PREPARE TO SEE IT AGAIN DOWN THE LIST..

FORAGERS:

Familliar Name: Beaver

Summoning lv: 33 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Skill Booster (+2 Woodcutting levels) Forager (5 Spots, Forages Oak to Yew logs and Planks of wood)

Time(Minutes): 27

Familliar Name: Giant Ent

Summoning lv: 78 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Forager (10 Spots Forages Oak to Yew Logs)

Time(Minutes):49

giantent.gif

Has Nature Link boost which can turn your pure essense to Nature or Eath Runes. Not really Woodcutting realted but its kinda cool. Also usefull in Farming. Thats about it..

BEAST OF BURDEN:

Familliar Name: Thorny Snail

Summoning lv: 13 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Beast of Burder (3 Slots)

Time(Minutes): 13

thornysnail.gif

Is a Beast of Burden. It is the weakest Beast of Burden. I would not even touch this because it is simply to low. Although if you aren't going past 20 Summoning you can use this. For Magic Logs 3 slots is 4k gold and it can make a difference. But you have to remember the time limit it can stay out.

Familliar Name: Spirit Kalphite

Summoning lv: 25 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Beast of Burden (6 Slots)

Time(minutes): 22

spiritkalphite.png

This familiar is able to hold up to 6 items for you after interacting with it. It is twice as good as the Thorny Snail. Lasts just about double the time and holds double the items. Still not really worth using as a true Beast of Burden but if its all you can afford then go for it :)

Familliar Name: Bull Ant

Summoning lv: 40 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Beast of Burden (9 Slots)

Time(minutes): 30

bullant.gif

Now we're talking. 9 Slots for Beast of Burden?? Much better. Still not even half as good as the best Beast of Burden. But as most people train stats to 50 the Bull Ant is probably a good choice. Last for a decent time too. 30 minutes is perfect time for Magic Logs. Once your done and full high tail it to the bank Withdraw from the Ant deposit, put him away and drag him back out for another 30 minutes. Its the perfect time!!

Familliar Name: Spirit Terrorbird

Summoning lv: 52 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Beast of Burden (12 Slots)

Time(Minutes): 36

spiritterrorbird.png

Not really worth the effort in my opinion. Look. I know i see a lot of people using this.. "Oh Anthony, its a good Familliar, What the hell is wrong with it??" Look. It IS a good Familliar. But the Bull Ant holds only 3 items less and dissapears 6 minutes earlier with 12 levels under what you need for this. Ill admit that the Tireless Run feature is pretty cool but for 10 more levels of hard work for 3 slots and 6 minutes. I would rather not. But thats just me :)

Familliar Name: War Tortoise

Summoning lv: 67 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Beast of Burden (18 Slots)

Time(Minutes): 43

wartortoise.gif

Apart from looking absolutely kick arse (in my opinion) there is really not much more to this familliar. The effort trying to get to 67 Summong CONSIDERING IF YOU ARE DOING IT JUST FOR WOODCUTTING is pointless. Although it is pretty popular. If you going to get a decent Summoning level then go for this. Looks cool, hold a lot and last for a decent length of time.

Familliar Name: Pack Yack

Summoning lv: 96 Summoning Needed.

Specialty: Beast of Burden (30 Slots)

Time(Minutes): 58

packyak.gif

OH HELL YES!!!!!!!!! This is the best of the best in the Beast of the Burden. Problem is the 96 Summoning that it is takes time, charms, shards, pouches and.... well... Money.. AND LOTS OF IT!! But by god how i wish i had 96 Summoning overnight so i could have this Beast.. Doesn't look to bad but the time and effort to get from 1-96 for the sole purpose of Woodcutting (if that is your case) is not worth it.[/hide]

9. QUESTS

[hide=Quests]Quests are fun little adventures to do. The problem that i find with quests is that [wagon] people who ask you to do them could have easily done it themselves (or at least chosen someone else  )

But in doing these "favours" for these dumb people you get some rewards. Who doesn't like a reward?? Anyway. The quests below are what can profit you in Woodcutting experience. Some are difficult some aren't. Now, im not a quest master. I float around 178-182 Quest Points which is enough but i can't remember half the stuff i did some don't ask me how to do some quests when youhave this great site to help you with the quests.

This is a pretty popular place for F2P people as it is pretty close to a quick bank and a quick market place.

yews4.png

The last spot i can think of that is relatively good is where all those Normal trees i pointed out where. At the back of Lumbridge castle. There are plenty more places where there are Yew Trees but those four above where the best i could think of near a bank :)[/hide]

Another popular place for F2Pers as it is close (even closer) to a bank is Edgeville yews. I'd get a pic for you, but imageshack is giving me troubles. -.-

Otherwise, nice guide.

Super guide. Really good. I already knew all the stuff here, but this is a really good guide.

Only error I can see is that for the rune axe, you say that "it can be smithed like ALL the other axes..." You pointed out before that the black axe cannot be smithed.

Not important, just something you might want to change.

Really great guide.

there are some errors in the summoning section. first the terrorbird is very useful because the pouch is very cheap *or was may have risen due to the shop change* and the abyssal titan only stores rune/pure essense so its not a bob.

spelling error:

They logs they produce have a difficult time selling on the Grand Exchange but are still favoured as one of the best and fastest ways to 99 Woodcutting

They are incredibly usefull for Construction and can catch a fair price on the Grand Exchange.

these logs are a pretty decent money maker. Selling from around 1200-1300gp per log.

for members cutting yews and willows at rimmington and banking using the depopsit box in customs locker (requires rocking out) is possibly good exp and be very uncrowded. haven't tried it yet, still need to do the quest lol. :wall:

The orange trees at Oo'glog are eucalyptus. The green ones are achey.

Meh, this guide is okay. The exp/hr numbers are accurate. You're too kind to maples, though...they're absolutely horrible for cutting at any level for any reason.

I don't like your suggested levels

45 wcing on maples is very slow

Willows 'til 60 is usually best

and 65 wc at yews is terrible

maybe wait until you get to the tree above before attempting them efficiently

The reason why i did these levels is to utilise the maximum amount of logs you could make to support other skills. They usually had the (Firemaking) or (Skill Mastery) thing next to it. Meaning that if you cut maple from 45-90 you could use those logs to also do Firemaking. I tried to make it as clear as possible. Not everything on this guide is completely accurate. Most of them are accurate and are within reasonable circumstances.

Cutting maples to use for firemaking is still a horrible idea. The correct log to cut if you want to train firemaking is teaks. Teaks are much faster experience and the exact same profit; thus, for firemaking, they are strictly better than maples. If you didn't want to burn on the spot, the correct choice would be to cut eucs and sell them later to buy maples, because chopping maples is still a waste of time and money.

From what i have heard the vast majority of Eucalyptus is in Oo'Glog.

People who are lower levels can cut Eucalyptus; as you need to have a Woodcutting level of 58. Where as Maples are more readily available at a mere level 45-50.

Also.. From the two posts you have done on thsi guide, they have been mainly negative critique. Do you think maybe a little positive encouragement is hard to type?? This is my first guide and i don't expect all players to like it. But i sure as shoot down want to be ridiculed and critisised so i feel like i should never try again. :)
