Sgs vs. Enhanced Excalibur

I personally never used a sgs (my goal to buy one next week) but enchanced excalibur is a great too the heal saves me spot for foods as well as gives me a bit of defence boost this is great

 

 

 

Say at water fiends Were im gonna get hit by mith dragons on the way instead of wasting a peice of food which heals u from the hit and gives u a defence boost b4 fighting water fiends

 

 

 

I perosnally thinks Ee is better then sgs In most situations a 100% heal vs a 505 chance of getting heal? :shame:

Yes but thats the thing

 

Sgs can hit 2 40s in a row and heal better... argh so hard to pick -.-

Super defence are a neccessity for Slaying, and negate the effect of the EE.

His stats are sufficient to ensure that, combined with super potions, he will rarely miss whilst using an SGS. You can also hit off two specs of the SGS to each spec of the EE, the additional bonus is also extremely useful for using 10% prayers or piety. The EE is extremely good, especially if you can't afford the SGS, but comparing the two is silly as the EE is just a watered down version of the SGS.

There are both good sides and bad sides about both.

 

 

 

Pro's

 

 

 

SGS -

 

Can heal more

 

Can restore prayer

 

Somewhat accurate special

 

It acts as both a healer and a weapon

 

 

 

Enhanced Excalibur -

 

Never fails

 

Need not bring Defence potions

 

Can be used whilst not attacking with it (Aviansies, anyone?)

 

Lightweight

 

Easy to replace

 

 

 

Con's are the opposites of the pro's, for the opposite weapon.

 

 

 

So in general, for slaying, SGS wins, but against Aviansies, you'd want the EE, or have a fine time 'firing blanks' against them.

You shouldn't be getting hit by mith dragons. Do you mean the Brutal Green Dragons? If so, protecting from mage limits the damage they do to either 1 melee or ranged attack, which usually hits around 10-13. That 1 strike per trip doesn't warrant using Excalibur.

 

 

 

SGS is better. But is it better for its cost? That varies greatly from person to person.

This reminds me of the D scimmy+r defender vs. Saradomin Sword conflict, sgs is great if you have the money, but don't use all of your money for just 1 item.

 

In some ways ee is better, like guaranteed healing and availability. It also gives a useful defense boost.

Zerker Combo owns both of them though, and whip on controlled destroys all 3.

 

 

 

You're right though. If you have the money get it, generally speaking. It's a lot more than that though. For example, if you pray superhuman strength during tasks (which you should), and a bunch of other factors can change that.

Sgs is better aside from being 2 handed. The excalibur is great for ranging, though. I use it at arma now(that's almost 4 free brews every hour). Excali is a decent alternative if you don't want to spend the money, though.

They heal the same; SGS restores prayer and EE boosts defense. But super defense pots are super cheap so the SGS is the winner in most cases.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

No, excali heals 20 hp/5 minutes. SGS heals between 0 and 60ish hp/5 minutes with 20 hp as a base(unless you miss and not just hit 0).
