99 Construction: Cost + Method ;; UPDATED

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on getting 99 construction but i wonder...

i have heard that oak larders are the fastest, but is there another faster way?

and is oak really the fastest?

an finally, what will be the cost of oak larders to 99, or your method

IF you give me a new method, plz say what it will cost too please :)

EDIT:

ok i've made my calculations

Oak Larders:

i need to use 204.802 oak planks, that's 25600 larders

I need to buy them at a cost of 422 ea, that's 86.4m in total

The 25.6k larders, will take me more then 1066 times to unnote planks

Teak Larders:

i need to use 136.535 teak planks, that's 17067 larders

I need to buy them at a cost of 701 ea, that's 95.7m in total

The 17k larders, will take me more then 1066 times to unnote planks

Maghony Larders:

i need to use 87.773 maghony planks, that's 10972 larders

I need to buy them at a cost of 1521 ea, that's 133.5m in total

The 11k larders, will take me 457 times to unnote planks

I don't know about the costs of the butler, does it change the fact to decide between oak and teak?

AND, i will use the SC minigame, to only pay half :)

so 99 con is going to cost me about 43m if i do it with oaks :)

Oak doors are slightly faster than oak larders. But it'll cost the same.

And spelling the and there is a good thing.

My skin is finally getting soft
I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

I use oak larders (level 70 con right now) and with the stealing creation morphic hammers it cuts your cost in half because you get twice the exp per oak plank. Its not necessarily faster though cause it takes a while to complete the minigame and collectpoints.

true but since construction is one of the more expensive skills to train to 99, getting to do it for half the cost is a great thing, unless you feel like blowing millions of gold for no apparent reason.

One other thing about oak doors is they use 10 planks, larders use 8. You can train on 24 planks per trip with larders, only 20 with doors. I suppose if you have a familiar that can bring extra planks then it would make sense. Plus, my kitchen is one click away from my portal entrance. I would say larders all the way. That's what I would do (I'm not going for 99 construction anytime soon, good luck)

I don't believe you're allowed familiars while in building mode.

Yes, but making 2 is faster than 3. It's a time vs money conflict... more trips means more money to pay Butlers (Which costs ~15m).

I wasn't sure about the familiars. Ok, here's how I would calculate my costs to 99 construction. First, go to the construction calculator and see how many oaks you need to get to 99. Buy half that amount. That divided by 24 will tell you how many trips it will take you. My method uses 2 laws and 4 airs per trip (with mystic mud staff equiped for home and fally teleports). If you craft your laws like me, then buy the ess needed, else buy the laws.

Play about 5 games of stealing creation for about 4-5 hammers, then use up the oaks, then repeat. Doing repetitive oak larders is pretty mind numbing, and taking a break between to play stealing creation really helps prevent boredom and burnout. The hammers are free but take time to get, but in the long run I think its faster overall and its a heck of a lot cheaper.

I can't believe that I forgot I built a falador teleport in my portal room. If you have one close to your kitchen you can half the number of laws you need and save even more. (I built mine after I got 70 construction. But then again I crafted my laws so the cost difference wasn't massive, but for you it will be!)

i worked out you save 1.1mil per hour getting sc hammers :)

Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod!

Ok mahogany larders don't exist, and teak larders use 8 teak planks and 2 bolts of cloth. You get a little extra exp by using cloth, but you only get 2 larders per trip, and the cloth is an additional expense. If you really want to go with mahogany all the way, then dining room tables use 6 planks, so you can consume 24 per trip (4 tables). You can make them at level 52.

If you go with mahogany, you make less trips and need less laws/teleports. That way you get to 99 faster but it costs a lot more. And you'd still need the same amount of hammers regardless of the material.

Oak larders seem to be the best way with the least cost
