It's pretty amazing how naive TIF users can be, with regards to RWT.

 

 

 

There's plenty of websites out there dedicated to breaking Runescape rules, basically. And it's really pretty amazing. If anything, the RWT rules have spurred MORE RWT. Why? Because there's now about 500 guides to different RWT methods, with varying speeds and efficiency, with various prices. I'm well aware than many are probably stupid or fake, but there's certainly plenty of methods to get around the trade limits.

 

 

 

It's very, very easy to transfer a small amount of money between two accounts... say, under 10m. That should only take a few hours at most, even with the well-known methods that are almost common knowledge. And the market for these guides is enormous, especially with the return of Wilderness PvP; more and more, people are seeking methods to transfer to their new pure accounts.

 

 

 

Either Jagex is blissfully ignorant, which is unlikely, or they simply don't care...

I'm pretty sure they don't really care; almost all the RWT methods I've seen/heard of since they nerfed the old ones are around 1-2M an hour, which limits the market severely; its pretty hard to buy 100M and use it right away now, it'll take almost a week for most methods. But yeah, I am surprised that a lot of TIFers don't realize that RWT still exists and thrives....

 

 

 

Anyways, OT I think that you shouldn't really do anything to get it back, you can't do that much. Best thing for the kid to do is just learn from his mistake now; I got hacked on Neopets when I was like 9, haven't been hacked by online scams since*knocks on wood*.

If someone i knew in real life hacked me, i'd knock them out (unless they were older/alot bigger than me). And after that try to make their lives worse socially until they gave my stuff back.

 

 

 

 

 

I played runescape when i was 10 too, but i always had a good scam-detecting system in my mind. In rs and diablo2 i only ever got hacked once, that was in runescape, and there was nothing i did to help anyone get my password. I guess it was one of those people who are all pro hackers and could do it anyway.

That's because a lot of TIFers want proof before believing something, unlike, say, people at the RSOF. I don't believe that it's effective or thriving at all, and I'll need hard evidence for you to convince me.

 

 

 

Oh, and OT: I don't see how it's possible to transfer wealth across accounts that quickly.

As everyone else has said, he really shouldn't be playing anyways. He obviously didn't disclose his real age, as it's a little difficult to scam over quick chat....

 

 

 

And as for myself, I got scammed a few years ago (before bank pins) by somebody claiming to be my friend from school asking to see my account. I gave him the password, told him he had a halfhour, then came back after that time to find that I was unable to log in. Luckily, I had recovery questions set, so I got back my account, but all my hard work (maybe around ~500k worth of stuff), was gone.

 

 

 

So I can sympathize with him, but he really should not be playing anyways, and Jagex has given him plenty of fair warning. Hey, best way to learn is through mistakes.
