I'm 17 years old, and I still cannot whistle. Therefor, the first person to give me a step by step ILLUSTRATED guide on how to whistle with your fingers(must be written by you..gotta make you work for your money) will receive an award of 100k gp. One more catch...it has to work.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For years I've wanted to 2 finger whistle, but have never been able to.

You gotta be kidding right? Nobody I know can whistle the same way using their fingers. It is all slightly varied from person to person :x

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

With that, my guide is simply, trial and error till you get a whistling sound.

 

 

 

Then just refine the technique :P

If you can whistle without using fingers you should be able to whistle with fingers. All the fingers do is create a 'shape' for the air to travel through, which produces a sound.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Like Rick said, it's really tril and error. The way i do it is to use the thumb and middle finger on my right hand, some people use 2 index fingers...... meh.

I can't do it myself, mind, but I'm pretty sure that it's a cse of doing it and doing it and doing it, until it finally works one day. That's how almost everyone learns to whistle, how to click their fingers and how to do that owl impression.

Well im not gunna draw pics and stuff cause im doing geography coursework and dont have time. Just tighten your lips as if you were gunna kiss someone... :lol: ... then create a small hole in which to the pass the air through. I think most people just blow and it doesnt work for em. You have to sort of push the air through the tight space not just blow.

I look silly with my fingers going into my mouth. Its not working :oops: I can whistle without fingers though.

Anyways, i think i can tell you how... unfortuantly, if i try and draw a pic, it could turn out looking bad...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways, here is my steps.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Make a mouth in the "o" shape.

 

 

 

2. Make thumb and index finger into a C shape(Find it works better with left hand)

 

 

 

2. Put thumb and index finger to sides of o mouth, pushing slightly making your mouth a little oval. Only put in about as much as your nails.

 

 

 

3.Blow a soft (But not to soft) steady stream of air.

 

 

 

4: Move mouth and fingures either tighter or looser.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thats about as elabrit as i can make it. try.

Hey you play the trumpet? Same here. Unfortunately, I'm not a great whistler. I can make amazing pitches, and control the tone of my whistle like noone else, but it's not really a strong whitle...and I cant whistle with my fingers unfortunately. Lol. My highest note on the trumpet is 3rd C tho :P

do you need instructions on whistling with your lips, cuase i can do that pretty good. i can go in and out at the same pitch, you have to move your lips just a little to get it be the same because going in is a little lower pitch.

 

 

 

anyway, i'd just do trials until you get it right, thats how i learned to whistle with my lips.
