I'm referring to how I'm going to college next year, so I'll find new people. I might just be going through an "I'm sick of everyone and everything about this school" phase, but I really think most of them will be easy to let go of. I had no problem ignoring them for 3 months last summer, I'll probably be alright with mostly losing touch with most of them.

Some Uhhmurricans think they need gunz to defend themselves. If I carried a gun ever just for "personal safety" I'd be asking for trouble.

I disagree on both counts.

 

A major reason, if not the major reason for owning guns is to have the tools to fight back if our government becomes oppressive.

 

Also if you're implying anyone who carries a gun is asking for trouble, that's ridiculous.

Not all people, I said "I", as in referring to myself. If I was in a place where I felt unsafe and had a gun, I'd be worse off than if I didn't have any sort of weapon because I'd pose a threat that I otherwise wouldn't.

I'd rather just not be in a dangerous situation of course, but if I'm in some bad area and I get jumped with no weapon, sucks to be me. If I'm about to get jumped and I have a gun on me, there are so many things that could go wrong. I'm generally not afraid that I'll be in any dangerous situations though.

Your choice is your choice, but I'd like to make a point.

 

You need to cut some lumber. You can use nothing, or you can use a circular saw. As you probably know a circular saw can be a dangerous tool, you also should know that the circular saw would make cutting the lumber a lot easier. Your logic now seems to be that, even though you know how to responsibly use the saw, you won't because there's always the risk you could seriously injure yourself.

I'm not going to carry a circular saw with me because of paranoia though. I understand the utility of guns, but I personally would have no reason to carry one unless I was hunting or in a situation where that's the norm.
