The server is back up by the way. Everything's updated. Also there's multiple worlds now. There's a survival, nether, and creative. There's also a pvp but its not opened yet. That's Ramos' thing and I'm not sure what he plans on doing with that. The survival and nether world both spawn monsters. You can't spawn items or use world edit in these worlds. The creative world doesn't spawn monsters and it lets you spawn items and use world edit. There's also a mechanic that keeps inventories separate per world. You can't spawn stuff in the creative world then go to the survival world with it, for instance. it'll disappear when you go through the portal, but will reappear when you go back through. Survival and nether share inventories though. Just thought you might be interested.

We can do multiple worlds? Could I request an Aether world when it comes out? That would be really cool.

Oh [cabbage]. I can't actually. I thought Aether was an update planned by Notch. But since its a client mod, I can't run it on the server... unless notch makes it official and incorporates it into the MC source code. Which he might do, given what he's been posting in his tumblr account. Sorry, I was confus.

 

Edit: I suppose I shouldn't be so black and white about it. It might be possible, but I doubt it...

There are some mods which people made that you can put in SMP. I'm pretty sure I've seen some anyway.
