I dont give out answers easily. Use this

 

pH = pKa + log{[A] / [HA]}

Also, take into account vinegar (i.e. acetic acid is a weak acid).

I'm thinking it would it be 1.8*10^-5 = something over the molarity of the vinegar? and then from that 'something' you find the pH.

 

Also, are you sure that was the whole question ? You ought to have been given disassociation constant, molarity, or concentration or something man ...

Yeah, it was. We're using vinegar in these vinegar-and-baking-soda boat things. So we'll know the mL of the vinegar. Dunno how we'd find the moles of the vinegar anyways, but yeah, I know what you mean.

 

oh wait, i could find the moles of vinegar from the balanced chemical equation i guess. but that's assuming i knows moles of baking soda. wtffffff

 

Okay, I'm probably overthinking.

 

just use -log(1.8*10^-5) = 4.744 which is the pKa

 

this isn't the pH okay, you need a molarity or concentration.
