So, today, I found out that Coldplay, Snow Patrol, and the Fratellis are all considered indie bands. Also, they are hated in the U.K. in the same way that Lady Gaga is hated in America. Huh.

 

I wouldn't consider them indie bands, but that's just me.

I would actually like to buy some music, support the artists that I really like. I'm thinking of buying Renard's new EP that comes out Friday, and Julia Nunes's new album that comes out eventually, particularly because they're both independent. But I dunno.

I prefer supporting individual artists than record companies.

God dammit, I wrote a post pretty much stating what Tyler said, but I forgot to hit the post button and refreshed, thus the post being forever lost.

 

But yes, if I feel that the artist deserves to be supported, I will buy their music.

Yeah, that's the difference here. One has a bandcamp page, and the other is putting out the CD on her own(she had a kickstarter for it). I'm definitely never buying off iTunes - Apple doesn't need my support.
