Same reason why sickle cell anemia and cystic fibrosis hasn't been bred out probably.

Sickle cell doesn't prevent you from breeding, and is actually beneficial in some environments, as it prevents I believe malaria. Cystic fibrosis I don't know enough about to answer though. But gay people in theory don't have kids. So how do the gay genes get passed on?

Surrogates and recessive genes.

I believe it isn't a choice for people who truly are homosexual; some people who go through bisexual stages are just going for attention and wouldn't explore this if it weren't for how much we hear about homosexuality now; but I don't know about it being fully genetic. I go with the whole part biological/part environmental thing. As for phases of bisexuality, hormones. Lots and lots of changing hormones. Or, people who are homosexual but afraid to admit it.
