I've mentioned several times in the past that I'm obsessed with her. I probably used "yandere" or something, so most of you probably didn't know what I was talking about.

Okay, wait. I'm kind of friends with her male cousin (the relative she comes to visit) and I'd actually like to hang out with him. Would it be better to become better friends with the cousin first (I'd like to be his friend anyway) before I ask her directly so I can get him to invite me when she happens to be there?
