The publishers don't get any money at all for the used games that gamestop sells. And despite the fact that they're pretty much free for gamestop to buy (they rarely give out more than 5 bucks) they sell it for close to the full price. but discounted a bit. So people coming into the store don't buy new games that support the publisher, they buy the used games that DON'T support the publisher.
