aviansies, combat, summoning questions (and more...)

Ok i got a few questions at the moment and i don't know what to do.

1. Should i train strength to 80 or defence to 80 first? (i know it will be strength but somehow defence seems to come in handy with aviansies)

2. Would it be worth it to train all my levels so i can get enhanced excalibur?

3. i've 4m currently, would piety be worth it, or would chivalry be more advised?

4. what would be the xp rates/hour if i'd train ranged at black dragons? And more importantly would i break even?

5. How long would 70 agility take me at ape a'toll (no i don't feel like going to the wilderness...)

6. I'd like to have herblore at 65, would it be worth it for me at the moment? or should i just collect all ranarr's i get during slaying/aviansies for this?

7. Summoning 67/68 how long would it take to get the charms for me? And is it worth it for me at the moment.

8. Construction to 75, is it worth it or is it better to use someone else's house?

9. i'm close at the point where i would be able to get an armadyl chestplate. But i'm not sure if it's worth draining all my money to zero for it. Currently i'm doing a lot of aviansies to get more money. But would the chestplate be better then the zamorak d'hide i'm using atm? (currently using arma helmet instead of chestplate but i'm thinking of buying one?)

10. i'd also like to know what the perfect tanking gear would be, if you take in regard that i want to be able to OD other people almost all the time. (cash isn't a problem for this question, so let your fantasy work)

11. should i use obby rings instead of rune c'bow and broad bolts? (i'd like to do this without prayer, unless prayer makes a big difference in profit

12. I'm thinking of chinning to 85, would this be worth it, or should i stick to aviansies? And if i would do it what would be the cost of the potions?

13. I'd like to have farming at 65 (for WGS obviously...) how should i do this considering i'd only farm one time a day. And if i do it with trees, which are the best xp/money wise

14. As last question, i need another high skill for questing and that's 68 smithing, what's the fastest xp/hour, how long would it take and cost me. (i will be using sc hammers)

15. thanks for all responses! And i know it's a load to answer, but i'm happy with at least a few questions answerred.

16. edit: what would be 2 good, respected skillcapes?

Ok i got a few questions at the moment and i don't know what to do.

1. Should i train strength to 80 or defence to 80 first? (i know it will be strength but somehow defence seems to come in handy with aviansies)

If you are doing aviansies, train defence up first.

2. Would it be worth it to train all my levels so i can get enhanced excalibur?

Yes

3. i've 4m currently, would piety be worth it, or would chivalry be more advised?

If you want to spare the cash, it is always worth it

6. I'd like to have herblore at 65, would it be worth it for me at the moment? or should i just collect all ranarr's i get during slaying/aviansies for this?

Wait until you can spare the money, or maybe do penguins for exp.

7. Summoning 67/68 how long would it take to get the charms for me? And is it worth it for me at the moment.

A week or two slaying or killing good charm monsters should be able to get you those charms.

8. Construction to 75, is it worth it or is it better to use someone else's house?

Unless you can spare the cash, use another house.

9. i'm close at the point where i would be able to get an armadyl chestplate. But i'm not sure if it's worth draining all my money to zero for it. Currently i'm doing a lot of aviansies to get more money. But would the chestplate be better then the zamorak d'hide i'm using atm? (currently using arma helmet instead of chestplate but i'm thinking of buying one?)

If you aren't using the money, go for it. The price seems pretty stable.

11. should i use obby rings instead of rune c'bow and broad bolts? (i'd like to do this without prayer, unless prayer makes a big difference in profit

Rings + 10% ranged prayer raises profit a lot, but you need high prayer and 95+ ranged.

12. I'm thinking of chinning to 85, would this be worth it, or should i stick to aviansies? And if i would do it what would be the cost of the potions?

Maybe make money ranging aviansies, and then use the money on chins? Saves some of the cost.

16. edit: what would be 2 good, respected skillcapes?

Theiving/Hunter/Fishing - Pretty easy to get, can make a bit of money and are quite respected.

Ok i got a few questions at the moment and i don't know what to do.

1. Should i train strength to 80 or defence to 80 first? (i know it will be strength but somehow defence seems to come in handy with aviansies) - Defence is so much more handy to be honest. Str should always be your last 99 when it comes to combat, unless youre a pure.

2. Would it be worth it to train all my levels so i can get enhanced excalibur? - Yes, the E E is very very handy.

3. i've 4m currently, would piety be worth it, or would chivalry be more advised? - Piety is awesome. I would reccomend you get it.

4. what would be the xp rates/hour if i'd train ranged at black dragons? And more importantly would i break even? - Not sure about exp rates but i thing its 18k - 22k an hour. Its good money though, but Aviansies are still better.

5. How long would 70 agility take me at ape a'toll (no i don't feel like going to the wilderness...) - 25k - 30k an hour i think, so you could do the math on that one.

6. I'd like to have herblore at 65, would it be worth it for me at the moment? or should i just collect all ranarr's i get during slaying/aviansies for this? - collect the ranarrs you get from slaying/avies/etc. and use them. Then buy or famr the rest.

7. Summoning 67/68 how long would it take to get the charms for me? And is it worth it for me at the moment.

8. Construction to 75, is it worth it or is it better to use someone else's house? - Well it can be pretty hard to find an open house sometimes. if you intend on getting 90+ Prayer then your own altar would be best.

9. i'm close at the point where i would be able to get an armadyl chestplate. But i'm not sure if it's worth draining all my money to zero for it. Currently i'm doing a lot of aviansies to get more money. But would the chestplate be better then the zamorak d'hide i'm using atm? (currently using arma helmet instead of chestplate but i'm thinking of buying one?) - Stay with the d'hide. Draining all your money for 1 item is unwise.

10. i'd also like to know what the perfect tanking gear would be, if you take in regard that i want to be able to OD other people almost all the time. (cash isn't a problem for this question, so let your fantasy work) - well this is the setup i loved using: Arma Helm, Arma Chest, D'hide Body, Fury, Ranger Boots, Sara Book/Dfs, accumulator. Another setup i like is the following (Not good for low defence though): Dfs, Zammy dhide + Chaps, ranger boots, robin hood, accumulator, Fury.

11. should i use obby rings instead of rune c'bow and broad bolts? (i'd like to do this without prayer, unless prayer makes a big difference in profit - obby rings are faster but will cut into your profit. I find that black knives and ranging potions works better than x'bow though.

12. I'm thinking of chinning to 85, would this be worth it, or should i stick to aviansies? And if i would do it what would be the cost of the potions? - chinning is not worth it imo. I would stick to aviansies. you will regret chinning in the end.

- Def (seems like it), Craft, Farm, Herb, Smith, Mine, Con, RC, etc.

Hope that helps a bit.

Ah I'm too low-levelled to answer all of this, but I know something for 14. which is 69* Smithing (Rocking out is 69). You should try superheating mithril bars, it gives a fair amount of smithing AND magic xp, also you'll break even, make around 50gp profit or 50gp loss per bar, depending on the current prices.

1. Depends on your gaming style. Personally I try to level melee stats in this order; attack, strength then defense. As better hits from attack speeds up strength and then the higher hits from strength speeds up the defense.

If your tanking avis then defense first otherwise strength.

2. Up to you if your close it won't hurt, but theres a lot of requirements for it so its completely your choice.

3. Yes. Massive increase in prayer points, more points per dose, piety and the ability to bless.

4. Not sure on exp, but you definitely should profit.

5. You'll fall a lot, just run to the wildy course on a normal world then switch to a PvP world. With 2 pineapple pizzas, few t bird pouches + scrolls and cakes you'll last ages.

6. Cat always reccommended herb farming from MTK as a viable way of training herblore at low/no costs.

7. Bork, penguins and the defense/strength training it shouldn't take too long from your level.

8. Not without your wanting a 70+ prayer level only get 53 (then pot to an armour stand).

9. Same as gorgoroth, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

10. I'd go with void if you have the best possible stats, but then again gorgoroth's setup it ideal and hes done a lot more avis hunting then me.

11. See gorgoroth's comments

12. I've tried chinning at and lower levels cannon is better exp (maybe I just suck at chinning) and a lot cheaper if done right.

13. Maples are the best as there cheaper exp and easier/cheaper seconds. I would recommend you do some special runs as well as atleast 2 herb/allotment runs a day, its good gp and exp.

14. Mith/Steel plates but I'm not sure of the rates.

[hide=Drops]

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8

1. Attack > Def > Str.

3. Apparently piety is great at like 87~ (give or take 2) all melee, so not really, not until you balance your bank, get other stuff you need.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Ok i got a few questions at the moment and i don't know what to do.

1. Should i train strength to 80 or defence to 80 first? (i know it will be strength but somehow defence seems to come in handy with aviansies)

If you plan to do lots of aviansies, get defence. Training attack, then strength, then defence would be optimal though.

2. Would it be worth it to train all my levels so i can get enhanced excalibur?

Yes.

3. i've 4m currently, would piety be worth it, or would chivalry be more advised?

Not sure what you mean here. Do you mean spending money to get prayer up? Or, using them for training? I'm confused.

4. what would be the xp rates/hour if i'd train ranged at black dragons? And more importantly would i break even?

Not very high, they've got a decent defence. You would of course make a nice profit. Aviansies would be better xp.

5. How long would 70 agility take me at ape a'toll (no i don't feel like going to the wilderness...)

Duno, just use the wilderness till 70.

6. I'd like to have herblore at 65, would it be worth it for me at the moment? or should i just collect all ranarr's i get during slaying/aviansies for this?

Unless it's for a diary/quest, there is no point in training herblore.

7. Summoning 67/68 how long would it take to get the charms for me? And is it worth it for me at the moment.

Undoubtly worth it, bunyip makes all training easier.

8. Construction to 75, is it worth it or is it better to use someone else's house?

For short term prayer training (just to 70 I'm presuming in your case) no, it's not. 55 construction for an altar, portal room, and armour repair stand is advised though.

9. i'm close at the point where i would be able to get an armadyl chestplate. But i'm not sure if it's worth draining all my money to zero for it. Currently i'm doing a lot of aviansies to get more money. But would the chestplate be better then the zamorak d'hide i'm using atm? (currently using arma helmet instead of chestplate but i'm thinking of buying one?)

Well, of course it's better, but not worth being completely broke. Save up till atleast 15m or preferably spend some money on summoning for astleast 69.

10. i'd also like to know what the perfect tanking gear would be, if you take in regard that i want to be able to OD other people almost all the time. (cash isn't a problem for this question, so let your fantasy work)

Assuming you got 80 defence, 68 summoning (bunyip), and an enhanced excalibur, Void, armadyl pendant, zamorak cloak (not cape), ranger boots, archer's ring, rune crossbow, broad bolts, DFS. With 90 defence you could use a blessed spirit shield instead of a DFS, but using ava's accumulator and an unholy book isn't an option unless you have a unicorn.

11. should i use obby rings instead of rune c'bow and broad bolts? (i'd like to do this without prayer, unless prayer makes a big difference in profit

Not in my experience.

12. I'm thinking of chinning to 85, would this be worth it, or should i stick to aviansies? And if i would do it what would be the cost of the potions?

Chinning is not recomended till 85+ range for cost effectiveness. In my opinion chinning is never worth it, but I like aviansies (got 89-99 range there).

13. I'd like to have farming at 65 (for WGS obviously...) how should i do this considering i'd only farm one time a day. And if i do it with trees, which are the best xp/money wise

I used 5 willows (and payment), 4 curries (and payment, didn't use the elven patch), 1 ranarr in the Trollehiem herb patch, and 1 toadflax+super compost in the Catherby herb path per run to get 42-70 farm. I got a bit over 20k xp/run.

14. As last question, i need another high skill for questing and that's 68 smithing, what's the fastest xp/hour, how long would it take and cost me. (i will be using sc hammers)

Make steel plates till 63, then mithril bolts till 68. No idea on times and costs, I usually don't bother timing things.

15. thanks for all responses! And i know it's a load to answer, but i'm happy with at least a few questions answerred.

16. edit: what would be 2 good, respected skillcapes?

Defense is useful in all combat situations: Ranging, Maging, etc. Strength on the other hand, is not

IF you're going to be slaying, training, then yes 68 is a good thing to get

If you're going after a gilded altar, boosts would be much better.

[i.e; Building gilded shelves and saving yourself a good 1-1.5m, getting a crystal saw, things of that sort. If nothing else, get shelves with a +2 bonus.]
