September 12, 200520 yr The person who started this post obviously meant football by the teams he mentioned, no need to hijack his thread with soccer teams.. I like the Eagles and Steelers since I'm from PA :D Yeah, but when he uses the term 'football', if you aren't completely insane, you'd obviously think it was English football, considering that English football is actually true to the term. Changing the title to 'handball' would be more appropriate.
September 12, 200520 yr Yeah, but when he uses the term 'football', if you aren't completely insane, you'd obviously think it was English football, considering that English football is actually true to the term. Changing the title to 'handball' would be more appropriate. But calling it Handball would confuse all those who support Handball. Anyway considering the post was started by mentioning the Chargers (an NFL side) it would actually be insane to think it was about the English Premiership.

Also when American Football was invented (and named) the forward pass was just about non existant. Back then the game wasnt that far from something like Rugby. Usually consisted of running plays and then kicking. You'd maybe have 5-10 pass plays in an entire game. That all changed back in the 1940s though as the pass started to become more of a focal point for some teams (not all). Now its the dominant way to move the ball. Oh and if you cant tell by my nick, I support the San Francisco 49ers. First Place 1-0 :D

Almost as bad as calling it soccer :P That's why I use the term American Football so that others can understand since that is where it is mainly played compared to football which is played by almost all nations in the world.
September 13, 200520 yr For me, I'm all Steelers... Lived in Pitt for 12 years :P Monday night game tonight: Eagles vs Falcons... Eagles are gonna win it. In preseason Falcons didn't look as great as last year.
September 13, 200520 yr I always cheer for the Cardinals.. I know they won't win but I live in AZ and they are just my fav team. It was looking good with them in lead then it all just fell apart. :'(
