aspeeder
First time doing this task, I got 66 of them, and I just had a question about which armour is the best. I heard piety is very useful at them, so would prostelyte to better than Bandos? And would it be a good idea to get verac's to get the best of both worlds? Lastly, how much food will I need so I'm not overeating to fit the gems in, and how hard do they hit and how accuratly? Thanks : . http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
kdb148
Neither. Use barrows armor. Goraks hit through prayer, and hit often and hard, so you want to maximize your melee defence as much as you possibly can. Veracs would be better if you plan on praying piety, but because you are close to a bank but not an altar, you're better off just using food and forgetting about prayer altogether, unless you don't mind spending a lot on prayer pots. I recently killed a lot of these to stock up on gems (and have 4k emeralds as a result :D). I used Torags plate & legs, d boots, berserker helm, obby shield, and a whip. A bunyip is very useful as well. What is most useful is a ring of wealth. Now, it's probably not as helpful if you only kill 66 of them, but you will greatly enhance your chances at a half key drop with one. I typically went through 16 monks in addition to a bunyip to get an inventory full of gems; if you are going to use piety, you will need less. My stats were a bit lower than yours when I was killing them, so you could probably get by with fewer than 16 monks per trip, especially if you use a bunyip. aspeeder
Bump, any other opinions? Is the def difference between Bandos and Barrows that crucial? http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
Lets_3ekout
If you have a bunyip/unicorn Bandos is fine, but if you don't it would be better to bring barrows since you would have to go in to seperate trips. Piety is very nice, and veracs works a charm there. If you don't mind the prayer pot price then this is the best way to do these tasks. Goraks hit through protection prayers, not defence prayers, so piety works as well as any other place. However you might want to use a barrows top instead of veracs top since it has bad def. I'd say if you have less than 90 def, go with a Torags top (or any other of the highest defence barrow tops). For the other questions, they hit very accurately and relatively high. Bring 2 super sets (I like to re-pot often here since they reduce your stats slowly) and pack in as much high healing food as you can. Pineapple pizzas work a charm. Healing familiars are godly here. spooferfish
Goraks are quite tricky. I'm not sure how feesable it is, but you may be able to go to gwd and have help killing them form other monsters? I've killed a few with bandos and a bunyip..was kinda scary cuz they do hit hard, and often but it worked out ok.

TheLad1
Goraks are a cannonable task -this will speed your killing up no end. With regards to the armour - I used Guthans & switched Slayer Helm & SGS when needing to heal - they can hit quite hard.
