July 14, 200917 yr Author Yeah, gauper I recommend you check out some interviews of the guys from Cannibal Corpse on YouTube. They're normal guys, some with families and George Fisher (vocalist) is a WoW nerd. They definitely do it just for shock value, the same reason why people make horror movies. As for how people could like this music, it's an acquired taste. Originally I didn't see anything appealing in it, but Death lured me in and my passion for it has slowly grown ever since.

July 14, 200917 yr It's not death metal you should get worked up about anyways, it's Black Metal. When you have some bands who participated in Church Burnings it sort of makes death metal seem sort of light hearted (after all these DM guy's are just [bleep] around). Don't forget Shining. They hand out razor blades at their concerts and encourage the audience to kill themselves. :) Cool.
July 14, 200917 yr black metal musicians do seem a bit fanatical at times (absurd, mayhem, burzum, the lot), but i guess its all about the spirit. Haha yeah, I guess it does make them pretty interesting to listen to when you realize they just aren't messing around or anything. Don't forget Shining. I'm pretty sure there's not many horror movies dealing with that.......(isn't there a smiley that looks like it's gonna puke?) Its just a [bleep] example.
