Most of the bands now a days just do it for [bleep]ing shock value. And it actually is getting pathetic now that people are just trying to get grosser then all the other bands. 99% of the bands a not glorifying it. I read an interview with Necrophagist and they even said something like "We're just normal guys, its just shock value" And it doesn't matter what you think is worse, its that you think one is okay and the other is not when there really is not much of a difference in the obscene level. I thought they all thought they were badasses because they just sreamed about blood and guts and gore and death. And sex.
July 13, 200917 yr It's not death metal you should get worked up about anyways, it's Black Metal. When you have some bands who participated in Church Burnings it sort of makes death metal seem sort of light hearted (after all these DM guy's are just [bleep]ing around).
July 14, 200917 yr black metal musicians do seem a bit fanatical at times (absurd, mayhem, burzum, the lot), but i guess its all about the spirit. you should check out the chasm as well, warrior.
