So lately I have been reading up that there is talk of making a gears of war movie. Personally I think this would be a kick-[wagon] movie, and I have heard it is being produced and directed by George Lucas, and Peter Jackson.

 

I have been thinking of a good cast myself, and this is what i have come up with...

 

Marcus Fenix-Dominic Purcell (Prison Break)

 

Baird-Josh Duhamel (Transformers 1/2)

 

Cole-This was tricky but i would say that putting in just any meat-head black guy wouldn't cut it

 

so I narrowed it down to...

 

1.)Samuel L. Jackson (Tons of Movies haha)

 

2.)The Rock (The Rundown)

 

3.)Will Smith (I am Legend)

 

Dom-Franky G

 

Victor hoffman-R. Lee Emery

 

Anya Stroud-Jessica Beil

 

Kim-Jason Scott Lee, or Brian Tee.

 

 

 

***I would also like to know what you guys think would be a good cast, and share your opinions about this being made into a movie.

that is true considering that movie was god-awful, and that most movies made from video games suck, but i would really like to see this being a good movie, because the game is great.

Christian Bale could probably do a pretty good Marcus. I don't remember anyone else from Gears of War so those are the only two I can "cast" =P.

Game sucks, movie would suck more.

Well the main hate I've seen on it is that it doesn't make sense. To which I say, LOL. It's a movie, get over it. Hell, in a way the alien thing actually did make sense. There have been drawings in similar temples in that region that have had similar beings drawn on them. The thing with the fridge was just lol, in a good way. My only complaint was Ford himself. He's old, retire already! You can see he's not as agile as he was. Other than that, it really was good.

Again, you're complaining that it didn't make sense. Again I say IT IS A MOVIE. Let's face it, the only reason people don't like it is because they saw the originals as kids, and that nostalgia factor leads them to think that the new one will be God. When it obviously doesn't carry the same childhood nostalgia, the feeling they were expecting, they don't like it. Unfortunately I've received word that George Lucas is currently not in possession of a time machine, and so that really isn't possible.

 

 

 

In Temple of Doom, did it make sense that the guy could rip your heart out without actually doing anything? Do you really think you can bail out of a plane with a raft? What about the bridge at the end of The Last Crusade that will appear if you believe? And the guardian of the grail? Are we expected to believe he's been in there for the last 2000 years?

Are you even reading the rest of the posts? I'm saying that the main reason you don't like it is because it doesn't have the nostalgic value of a movie you saw when you were young.

I'm a little sick of people thinking of opinions as fact because in the end, you have your opinon, I have my opinion, and Gene Shalit has his opinion. Well, what else are we supposed to say about a movie that isn't out yet?

I think it needs to be said that Shia Labeouf ruined the new Indiana Jones and took it from mediocre to genuinely bad (for me, anyway). I don't know why, but I can't stand him. He ruins everything he's in.

 

 

 

Anywho, back on topic- I have doubts about a Gears movie. Game movies seem to have a bad habit of sucking, and I can't see this panning out any different. Plus Lucas has, well.... lost it. He's gotten into kind of a kiddy rut where he feels the need to ham everything up. Besides that the whole game's characters were kind of frat-boys meet space marines, leaving a lot to be desired, so I think they'd have to change that if the movie is going to be watchable.

I'm not sure Christian Bale could play a huge, angry badass with a chainsaw gun personally. Though he came close in the Batman ones

The closest Chirstian Bale ever got to being like Marcus was in Batman, in that both characters sound like they have throat cancer.

Game sucked.

 

 

 

Slow, boring, and majorly repetitive gameplay. Like most video games, they tried to make it look too real and instead just ended up with shiny looking people and everything in a disgusting tan color. The only thing good about the game was the storyline.

I thought the game was alright, as you said a little repetitive, but still decent. Obviously the first one was a helluva lot better, but who knows.

~~I have also read the for the writing portion they have chosen Stuart Beattie (Collateral). and Cliff Bleszinski (ex. producer of Gears of War). Then for the directors and producer, I have been hearing names ranging from Len Wiseman, Peter Jackson, George Lucas, and Jerry o Flaherty.

I don't think Christian Bale is HUGE enough.

 

That was one thing that bothered me about the game. All the characters were HUGE! Their legs were practically as thick as my torso! I've never seen an actual person be that big and be able to run around and cut people in half.

 

 

 

Although he does have the gravelly "I smoked for fifty years" voice so that could possibly work. "I'M BATMA-- I MEAN TIME TO KILL SOME LOCUST"
