Haha yea that's the one problem, in the movie all the characters (except baird) are going to be "desized" haha

I agree with the above two posts, it will be hard to have that massive look that the characters had in the game, did you see the size of coles arms?!

 

 

 

I don't even think they could achieve it if they had 80's arnie, 80's stallone, and any other movie beefcake in the movie.

 

 

 

They could CGI it, much like the beowolf film, but then it wouldn't be as good of a movie tbh.

 

 

 

Off topic: I thought Idny 4 was bad, i can't say any specific areas that it failed in, but i fell asleep 3/4 of the way through, so something in it much have been terrible :?

 

 

 

Edit: What about that green mile guy as cole? He's huge and well, without being racist..has the right skin colour. He does play those heavily built character roles well.

that is true considering that movie was god-awful, and that most movies made from video games suck, but i would really like to see this being a good movie, because the game is great.

 

 

 

 

 

This is what every fan says, every time a new game-to-movie is made. They're always left disappointed.

Hmm i'll try my hands at a real cast. My goal is to use characters who don't have a big role and who are vertistle enough to embrace the role and perhaps springboard or revive a career, My theory is if you give your three budget actors great surrounding talent they will look great. It's all too easy to get caught up in big name actors, which is something i've tried to shy away from in an effort to spend more on CGI/Sets/Costumes and effects.

 

 

 

Casting Delta Squad.

 

Marcus Fenix - Nick Chinlund (Tears of the sun) - Cheap to sign on for 2-3 movies, would be perfect.

 

 

Dominic Santiago - Franky G (Saw 2) - keeping the budget cheap; I originally considered Dae Kim here.

 

 

Augustus Cole - Lester Speight ( Gears of war voice) - Face it, he is the voice and as a former linebacker/pro wrestler he is the logical (And budget friendly) choice

 

 

Damon Baird - Ryan Reynolds (Amnityville horror, wolverine orgins, lots of flicks) - Budget took a hit, but he's going to get enough screentime to warrant it and has the abilty to sell the franchise to non fans

 

 

Minh Young Kim - Gerald Okamura (gi joe) cheaper than ken wantanbe, and will fill the role nice enough

 

 

Anthony Carmine - Brian Van Holt (SWAT, Basic, Black Hawk Down) - Cannon fodder who has plenty of war movie experience

 

 

Benjamin Carmine - Daniel Henney (wolverine orgins) - This guy sucked in origins, I want him to die - again.

 

 

Tai Kaliso - Daniel Dae Kim (Lost, Saints row series ) I think Dae Kim fits the role perfectly - especially with his voice acting in saints row and his work on tv

 

 

Dizzy Wallin - Sam Elliot (Frogs, golden compas) - Pefect and cheaper than tommy lee jones

 

 

 

 

Victor Hoffman - Lee Ermy (Full metal jacket) - Fits the role perfect

 

 

Anya Stroud - Isabell Lucas (Transformers 2) - Cheap hottie to cast

 

 

Chairman Prescott - Edward Burns (Saving private ryan) - Should be interesting and budget friendly

 

 

The Locust Queen - Helana Bonham Carter (fight club, most speilburg movies, most fantasies in my head) - Gives the movie star power

 

 

Maria Santiago - Carla Gugino (Sin City, My fantasies, My Daydreams, Spy Kids, Watchmen) - More star power and a lesser known one at that.

 

that is actually a great realistic cast you got there. I still would have to keep Marcus Fenix as Dominic Purcell, he isn't a very well-known actor, but your other ones are actually quite "brilliant"

I've never been sold on Purcell - I didn't really enjoy prison break too much

I still wanna see a Halo movie, but in CG; not actual live acting, seeing those damn [developmentally delayed]ed marines running around doing balls all the entire campaign... >_>

 

 

 

On topic: Gears has a really good storyline, this movie won't be great to be honest... Unless they took the 300 style approach with the CG/Acting incorporation... just my two-cents...

Mother [bleep] Samuel L. Jackson as Cole, hell yes that would rock. Will smith just seems an odd choice.

Anyway, I doubt this movie would be good unless it was digital, like in the games. No live-action stuff, it would just seem too corny, kinda like Mortal Kombat. Plus, it just wouldn't feel the same unless it was the person who voiced Cole in the game playing Cole in the movie. Woo baby!!!

I think it's kind of ridiciously tbh... I've completed both the campaigns on Hardcore, but never bothered to play multiplayer.

 

 

 

I love the story line, it'd be an epic Tom Clancy novel :P however I find all the executions kind of ridiculous...

People can have their opinions. Personally i thought the multiplayer sucks, and the campaign on both are a little lacking but still quite good.

Anyone else think this Maruiz Pudzianowski would make a great Marcus Fenix?
