July 23, 200916 yr I'm going to be a dork and make a support sig bar thing. Because it's what I do. But starting a petition sounds a good idea, I'll start the list. Anyone who appears to have supported this in this topic will be put on this list. If you want on/off, PM me. July 24, 200916 yr If you want to blog go to a blogger site and make an account, then feel free to link to it. That's what they're there for. I will always be pushing for no rl blogs here thanks.
July 24, 200916 yr I will always be pushing for no rl blogs here thanks. Here here. And asking others to make a blog merely to get the subforum doesn't really work well, as it shows that there simply isn't a want for the subforum if users are being asked to create them to receive one. :? Users like me want a subforum so we never have to see the topics again. I am still a little surprised nobody else has made them.

July 25, 200916 yr The subforum would preferably not be under OT, but would be somewhere completely different.

The main reason I want a subforum is, because I can imagine, regular Ot'ers will get angry when there's even only 5+ blogs in OT, and I don't want to be flamed for one, even if it isn't against the rules. But that's also the reason I hardly ever go to OT, so I should probably shut up. :P When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+

Maybe they get angry because the majority don't want to see blogs? So if users are unhappy with blogs, and a subforum is created, they won't use it. Then the topics will die out because only 6 users actually want blogs and we'll end up with a subforum for no reason. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
July 28, 200916 yr On one hand in theory I have a hard time just denying a subforum if people really want it and it will be used, but where do you draw the line in what TIF is for? It's really not a blogging service and we have a thread for micro-blogging and posting links to blogs. But still, if there are people out there who would like to read it, maybe we should just create the subforum. I wouldn't ever go out of my way to read blogscape or forum games, but a lot of people love them, so who are we to say just because 14-year old blogs are mind-numbingly boring to us, others won't enjoy them? I think the best course of action is to either just make personal blogs against the rules and allocate them to one sticky, or give them their subforum. If it turns out to be too much modding work for its worth due to the sensitivities people have about comments on their blog, we could just close it for that reason. I gotta say I hate the idea of acknowledging the worth of such blogs here by giving them their own subforum, but it doesn't seem fair to not allow them just because a lot of us don't like them. Tough call.

Tough call. I think creating another subforum is a bad idea. As you mentioned, it might require more work for moderators when such a small sub-section of the TIF community is asking for it and even less are interested in what those people have to say. Not only that, but places to blog already exist and a creative person could tie in their game blogs to what was going on in their real life anyway. Where is the line drawn? It sounds like at the very least it's time to draw it somewhere...and maybe even do away with some of the already existing, somewhat redundant sub-forums.
