But honestly, does it make you any better as a person? Would people respect you more? People would just think you're immature.

 

 

 

Swearing excessively and inappropriately (where it doesn't make sense) is what makes you look immature. It's kids that think that, because you're using "bad words" it makes you look cool.

I dare you to say the phrase, "The G.E's handing out 3rd Age pretty [racist term]rdly" in Runescape, at the General Exchange, in world 2, and see how many times you're reported. The word [racist term]rdly means stingy, reluctant to give out, etc. There's about two possible definitions for the word, and none of them include the ethnic slang some of you probably thought it would. Yet, if you were to use that, you'd probably be branded a racist.

I read somewere the meanings of two popular "swear words". I am not sure were so dont ask me for sources.

 

 

 

One starts with an f and the other with a c, can you guess what they are? Good. ;)

 

 

 

One means fornication. under. the. commandment. of. the. king, in ye ol times when the king wanted a bigger army but the population was a bit low he wanted people to have kiddies so the population would increase and the army could get bigger. Belive it or not, its up to you.

 

 

 

The other one doesn't exist, it was first used in a poem for something a nun wears "c**ts and cowls" then some body gave it a different meaning and it evolved into what we knoiw it as today. Again it is up to you wether you belive it or not.

I've been playing RS for awhile now, and here is just what really annoys me

 

 

 

Price limits Blame real world traders- people used to just be able to give real money and buy items in the game now I don't see how they can which is good.

 

trying to work the ge but having my character click out of the window and run away all the time I thought they fixed this but I guess not.

 

language filters They took out some of the things but the words they still filter I don't see a reason to use.

 

the stupid formula for getting stuff pvp Blame real world traders- they're the cause of not being able to get the players items.

WTF is your problem? Swearing for me conveys frustration, or if I use it in a joke, I make sure its clever. Studies confirmed that people who swear can stand pain longer than those who don't. I'm looking at what you said and I hope its a joke, but if it isn't I honestly am offended.

Would you want porn and ultra violent games such as manhunt to be available to every body? Would you want games in bad taste, such as a game being released in japan were the object of the game is to rape people, to be censored or only sold to over 18's?

There's a difference between censorship and preventing a child from seeing something he/she doesn't quite understand yet. My point is that each song,movie, painting, whatever is the creation and it should not be censored by a bunch of self righteous people who have convinced themselves they are doing God's work. I am not advocating allowing toddlers to watch porn or a violent movie, I am just against other people changing someone's work becsue they think it is offensive. I know not everyone here lives in the US, but the First Amendment of our Bill of Rights says and I quote, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." We have the right to say what we want when we want, and the Federal Government can't stop us. I would not let my children watch violent movies, play violent video games, or listen to bad music until I felt they were mature enough to understand them. I am simply against altering someone else's work based on an individual's opinion of it.

Jagex is a private company, running a private product. They can limit your freedom to say what you want on their game/forums and have every right to.

Personally, I think there is no problem letting your kids hear swear words or violence cos one day they are going to learn them and they are going to see it, you just need to teach them the right time and place and when to use violence.

 

 

 

Were did any body on this forum learn swear words? Play ground? Friends? Not exactly the right place to learn them so why not teach them to use them properly? They are going to use them, I bet the queen has swore :lol:

Because everyone is hiding the fact that the updates suck and that's why everybody is not complaining about the "crappy updates". Seriously, why not ignore the updates if you are so hateful of them. I am sure there are other things for you to do...Jagex works hard to create updates and here you are complaining because they are not good enough.

 

 

 

If you want the truth, with the expectations I think you are setting for Jagex, Jagex will never make a worthy update and you might as well shut up now because Jagex is never going to satisfy you and there is no use complaining.
