Why can't you divide by X? If X was 1 then you could divide by X, but when X(which you are supposed not to know, that is why it is algebra...) is 0 you can't....

Actually you would get

2x = x (Since it is the most simple version of the formula.)

If you moved the 2x to the other side you would get x = 3x...

Since x = 0.....

 

If you minused x from both sides you would just get 0x=1x then -1x=0x then -2x=-1x

It would just be inversing the problem....

X/0, in any case, is 0...Since if I have 5 apples and I share them out between no people then no one would have any apples...except me obviously, but I don't count.

Actually X/0 is undefined. You can't apply logic to mathematics like that. On a graph, basically it would be an up and down straight line.
