Looking for new headphones. sennheiser or skullcandy?

Featured Replies

My current pair of clip-on earphones is having issues with the end of the cord (which may be repairable- it crackles in and out when you bend the cord). Anyway, I'd like another pair of clip-on earphones that are known to not have issues with the cord. I've been looking at Sennheisers, but I've read that the cords can break... Does anyone have the OMX 60 VC (http://www.sennheiserusa.com/private_he ... ine_502541) and what do you think of them?

A friend of mine has a pair of SkullCandy headphones, and I'd be willing to try massive ones... But I've heard bad things about them from people on Tif. I'm kind of wary of $40 for a pair of earbuds (see Asym: http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/lowrider-p-139.html . Has anyone owned either of these or a SkullCandy product in general? I really like the braided cord instead of the normal rubber ones, it seems to be more flexible. On Amazon the Lowrider in green/black is only $30, I'd definitely buy them for that, what do you think?

I went looking for a nice pair of headphones a month or so ago and I can tell you that I did not find them with Skullcandy. Horrible bass and neutrality on all of their models. I went with an in-ear style instead but I never tried out the other brand you mentioned.

I usually stick with cheap buds since I don't use them much, but Sennheiser is always a pretty good brand. Sucks though because I can't stand the in ear buds.

Skullcandy's are amazing. The reason for the price is that the sound quality is simply stunning. Awesome bass, and crystal clear. I don't have a pair of low riders, but my friend does, and I can easily say they are great. My opinion is probably a bit bias, but they are good headphones.

What pair did you try?

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Not my quote. :P

I tried one wireless one (which could just be attributed to its nature), the Aslm, and one noise cancelation one (I only remember the one name because it stood out). I found that the base was overly boomy two of the models and the neutrality was sub par across the board. Maybe for the price, I guess. When I was shopping, price wasn't my major concern - I spent like $80 on a pair of headphones I could enjoy on the plane. I won't generalize an entire company's line based on three models, but the ones I tried weren't all that hot. Certainly up from Apple's stock headphones, though.

These cost me $99 and are superior to these, which cost me $250. If you want a comparison, skullcandy is pretty much the alienware of the headphone industry.

So yeah, go with Sennheiser (unless you're open to other brands).

I think I'll get the Skullcandy ones, they look pretty cool and I can't find any Sennheisers I like and can afford. Plus my friend treats her headphones the same way I do (shove em in a bag, the cord gets all tangled, etc) and they've lasted a while (at least a year, which is more than my current pair has lasted). I'm not sure which ones they are, they are comparable to the DJ ones, she said they were $50 or so.

WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME

#1 Wongtong stalker.

Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

The OMX 60 earbuds are great, though you really have to press them in your ear. If I were you, I'd buy of Amazon because they are cheaper there.

I'd recommend these Sennheisers, if any.
