adimadaru
Well the thing is that even in single combat, a healer or beast of burden can drastically improve your longevity, so it's still kind of like having extra hp levels, instead of extra attack and strength levels with a combat familiar. A pure wouldn't be able to effectively use a healer, since any monster worth using a healer on would rip through a pure's defence too fast. Prayer potions = Win. Yeay but without defense any monster would be worth using a healer on. Prayer potions = expensive What can I say? I'm a rebel, like Ché Guevara. Prayer potions = expensive a healer wont be able to keep up with damage done (on a pure that is) so they will either need food or prayer potions any way, making the healer pretty much useless in alot of cases I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

Already know about those, I was thinking more familiar-based and more than help more skills. Soupy17
/pure signing in lolz/ A lot of pures train summoning. Im at 52, with the charms for like 65 banked. Many famous pkers have summoning, such as hiei the pk. Its very useful for pure wars as well. Pures take massive amounts of damage. Look at the forge revent thingy. It makes it so they cant move, eat, or change prayer for 5 seconds. Thats enough time for 4 pures to make another pure go from 99 -> 0 hp easily. The healing effects of the titans dont make you stop attacking, awesome for wars. So yeah, its a shame a lot of pures dont get smart and traing summoning more, it really is worth it. This is coming from first hand experience ;] A pure wouldn't be able to effectively use a healer, since any monster worth using a healer on would rip through a pure's defence too fast. Prayer potions = Win. ^ You're 45 def right? Either way you are wrong. Im not 68 summoning yet but the warlord of my clan is and he can last at waterfiends almost as long as mains can. spdreader
I'm no expert on pures in general, but at least for defence pures, wouldn't summoning be great against a target? A level 32 with 70 def and barrows, and a high summoning level could get summon a familiar after he gets his target (since at at that point combat level doesn't matter), and let his opponent bash away at his high def, while the familiar and poison does the damage for the defense pure. Of course, how a defense pure would get charms to train summoning at a reasonable speed is beyond me.
Lap
Defense Summoning pures are a new thing I've recently seen rise. They most likely: A) Use Soulwars/Kill Weaker Monsters (Very Likely) B) Use Lootshare (Only for the ones with very rich alt accounts or very generous friends). I've seen a level 39 def pure who was wearing full dragon and summoned a mith minotaur. He said it made training 5x faster. 45,657th to 99 Range 29/09/09 , 41,018th to 99 Mage 13/11/09__________________
Obtaurian
Public chat->off If the stupidy of other players keeps you from getting the benefits, there's something wrong. No matter what do you do in the game, it's always wrong. If you lose your battle, you're a bad pker. If you win it, you're a nerd/hacker/nolifer. Same goes with everything else too. If someone is too stupid to realize the benefits of summoning and flames you for that, how is that reason not to train it? I realize that, but i would prefer less shouts of "failure" when im just going around killing rock crabs or something. Pub chat off is simply not an option, because i don't like not hearing what the people are saying. My overall enjoyment of the game would probably be hampered if i got summoning, i can try to ignore the idiotic pures, but as happened on my old pure i would eventually get into a long drawn out argument... Wasting my time and there time, and at the end when i feel "good" about myself when the only argument they have left is "well i still don't like summoning" another pure goes up to me and says. "Failed" And the cycle starts again. Dumb pures. Oh, I get it. You're just immature. Weigh the pros and cons; summoning or public chat? A level 60 with a dragon med, granite platebody, and frogskin boots could figure that one out. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
