The Tier List Thread.

Recommended Posts

Seeing that most games will have tier lists in them, why don't we make a topic about it? In this topic, you are free to discuss anything tier-list related, whether it's making a tier list, or commenting on someone else's tiers.

By the way, please do not say anything about "tiers are for queers", or "tires don exits", or anything like that. It's disrespectful for those that like to look at and/or use tier lists, and any fads like these are not allowed.

EDIT: Since we can still post tier lists here, I shall post my Helper to Hero tier list for Kirby Super Star Ultra.

Broken Tier

Bonkers (Hammer)

Top Tier

Rocky (Stone)

TAC (Copy)

Bio Spark (Ninja)

Capsule J2 (Jet)

High Tier

Burning Leo (Fire)

Plasma Wisp (Plasma)

Bugzzy (Suplex)

Waddle Doo (Beam)

Knuckle Joe (Fighter)

Middle Tier

Sword Knight (Meta Knight Sword)

Blade Knight (Sword)

Gim (Yo-Yo)

Simirror (Mirror)

Wheelie (Wheel)

Birdon (Wing)

Chilly (Ice)

Poppy Bro Jr (Bomb)

Parasol Waddle Dee (Parasol)

Bottom Tier

Sir Kibble (Cutter)

If you want another idea of one (made by another user in GameFAQS), check this topic.

Erm... what?

What? You don't know what a tier list is?

A tier list is basically putting characters of a game into groups on a list. This lists them from the best (top) to the worst (bottom).

If you want an idea, check the one I made. But that probably only makes sense if you have played Kirby Super Star Ultra before.

Sonic, I think it's best to keep Brawl tiers in a Brawl thread, a kirby tier in a kirby thread, etc instead because this would be quite confusing b/c most people wouldn't know what you're/everybody else is talking about.

Oh, I see. Then this thread shall only make discussions about tier lists in general then.

I agree. Tier lists should be kept on the threads pertaining to those specific games.

This stops me from locking this. Though it doesn't look to be too popular, so it will die on its own. Also, that's just my opinion. If people want to put tier lists here, they can go right ahead.

Tier lists seem entirely pointless for anything that isn't an actual game being played for large competition. I mean, a tier list for kirby? Why? That being said I don't like them anyways, and I think that communities focus too much on the idea of a tier list. It gets incredibly annoying in a game such as SF4, where players will [bleep] about characters being in a "god tier", even though they may only have a win or two over other characters. Chances are you aren't playing at such a competitive level that you will make no flaws and character balance will come into consideration, so why bother complaining about it?

In casual play they are just downright stupid though. Especially when someone complains about another playing as a cheap or "god tier" character.

I made the Helper to Hero tier list, because I beat the mode with all helpers twice. What is used in the list is effectiveness of their moveset, ability to clear through that mode, and overall gameplay and difficulty. Usually, people who are advanced in certain game modes create tier lists, so that they are based on actual facts, and not just opinions. Tier lists made by inexperienced players are often ignored, for the above reasons.

Casual players who wants to complete a mode with all characters should start from the people in the higher tiers, then work their way to the bottom. That way, they can complete the mode with everybody in the most effective way.

What inspired me to make a tier list is the Helper to Hero guide for Kirby Super Star Ultra on GameFAQS, made by GenoGar. A long while ago, people also made tier lists on the GameFAQS KSSU board based on their playing experiences, and how good the characters are. I miss those good times, discussing about our lists. :(

My conclusion is, tier lists aren't just for competitive play, they can also apply to non-competitive games. That way, gamers like me can enjoy tier lists. :)

The only places I think Tiers matter are 100% competitive games, that only are played for competition, and.. oh wait, thats the only example.

Matchup lists are kinda more important though.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Try checking the example that I italicized, and reread the things that I have bolded.

I'm not disagreeing with you I'm just voicing my opinion.

Oh, then that's fine. I'm not trying to disagree either, just pointing things out. ::'

However, my point was that tier lists can be used in any game that requires completion of a mode with all characters, to see who is best suited for it, and who is the worst at it.

Also, since we can still post tier lists here, I shall post my Helper to Hero list in the OP.
