AmadanUladh
It would appear to me that Runescape's actual censors have gotten more lenient while yours have gotten ever tighter, binding us to use an 'educated vocabulary' or whatever the desired effect may be. But seriously. Donkey? Censored? That's just ludicrous. It's not "offensive". I don't feel offended when someone calls me an [wagon], or uses it in their casual speech. You should seriously reconsider where you stand on your censors. It's easy to evade and it's just pointless to censor such a playground word. [wagon]. Rainy_Day
Whilst you may not find it offensive, I'm sure other members may object to people using that word in a derogatory manner towards them. I think our censors are pretty lenient at the moment, I wouldn't say they've become stricter at all. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)RIP Michaelangelopolous
Wongtong
I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed, [wagon] has always been censored. So.. the censor hasn't gotten tighter from what I've observed. And who cares? Just deal with it. Jeez. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! I think our censors are pretty lenient at the moment, I wouldn't say they've become stricter at all.So, what you're saying is is that people do find it offensive, therefore you censored it, but then censoring could produce more elaborate cuss words. I could call you a [hide]ballbag[/hide] for example. (I'm not calling you it. I'm using it as an example. If you do not wish to be offended, don't open the hide tags. Please don't ban me D:) Which is a hell of a lot more offensive than donkey, and I'd take offence and I'm sure most people here would take offence from it, but isn't censored. Is there a way it would be a positive influence on the community? Personally, I can't see it. At the risk of repeating myself, it's only going to make more people conjure up more elaborate swearwords as I have demonstrated above in the hide tags. Well, I accept that they can but don't you think that people will be less inclined to do that if they're even slightly satisfied with that one word being uncensored? Or 'relaxing the censor'. What do you think about that? 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! It was an extremely open question and I hope you can understand why I misread it  Now, let's forget about all this previous bleh for the moment and let's roll._______________________________ Is there a way it would be a positive influence on the community? Personally, I'd rather hear your case for censoring it first. I want to hear how something which is thrown around pre-watershed (and quite happily too) could offend people in such a manner as to say "Right, let's censor this," As I am proposing this, I really should be doing the talking first, but I want to hear what you have to say on the case first. Why is this word so offensive? How is it that 3 letters can make someone so upset that you must censor it? What is so dire and disgusting about this piece of vocabulary that no-one is allowed to say it?

Oh well. Anywho, remember that this forum is G-rated, meaning that 13 year olds should be catered for as well. You know.. the word '[wagon]' could pollute their minds!!!! :P I imagine that TIF have a list of words that are censored in other forums but -shrug- Okay, think about it like this. You might not find it offense, but others might. It's sort of like.. okay, let's say you're white. I'm asian (I actually am). You call me a '[racist term]'. You wouldn't find it offensive, but I would. You could easily tell me that it's just a 'playground word' Different people find different words offensive. edit: hey look, my example word was censored. Mirror
Here is a useful and light topic I found on the internet for why some words are taboo. There is even a little quiz at the end. :Dhttp://www.englishclub.com/esl-forums/viewtopic.php?f=192&t=38114It might help you find your answer. It's in there. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
Laikrob
The word censor has been relaxed gradually the last year, and even more since the conversion, so I find it amusing that this is brought up now. :) To clarify: * Censored words are just to cover the most widely used swear words and offensive expressions. Unless someone exaggerates, there is no need to report someone for a "[bleep]" or two. * Avoiding the censor to use any of these words will not be allowed, use a dictionary and a little imagination - and a donkey or a gardening tool will do just fine. * Uncensored offensive words can of course still be reported, and will be dealt with accordingly by the Moderator staff. * Same goes for unoffensive words used in an offensive way. * Common sense and courtesy go a long way. Laikrob,Tip.It Moderator You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now? Of all things, our censor has gotten much more lenient over the past few years. I don't think any new words have even been added recently, so don't act like this is a new thing. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

n_odie
Don't be such an [wagon]. ^ I just don't see how @$$ would bring positive bonus to the site. Yes, RS allows it. Rs doesn't allow pimp and lots of other slang words that we do. They shouldn't be connected and should be community by community based. Cussing honestly rarely helps a post out anyway, it just lowers any respectability your post had. I personally do say [wagon] from time to time rl, but its more with close friend whom I know I'm not going to offend. Being a fansite for a huge mass of users means we need to moderate some words that may be 50/50 on the social "ok meter." RIP MichaelangelopolousThanks to cowboy14 for the pimp sig! True_Ownage
Well, I hear the insult of dog being thrown around here and then, hows this any different to "donkey", cause in my opinion calling someone a dog is far more offensive. I honestly think you're overreacting lol. If a poster finds a post offensive with no censored words, then they should report the post and action should be taken against the offender, rather than censor common words that could be used in an offensive manner.
