Higher Level Range/Slayer Equipment

Well, I wanted to get 90 range from slayer, and I have 10 mil to buy items for tanking (I have everything for safespotting.) I want to make money, so cannon would only be on a few tasks such as Dagganoths and Kalphites. Also, for the Blessed Spirit Shield, is Summer's End Hard? I know I am a quest noob. :thumbsup: Well, here are my ideas.

 

1. Keep the Neitiznot helm, rune kite and if I need extra defence, use veracs skirt. Buy alot of cannonballs for tasks.

2. Buy Blessed Spirit Shield, keep Neitiznot helm and have 5mil left over for cannon etc.

3. Buy BSS and Veracs Helm, have <500k leftover.

4. Use Spirit Shield From Reward with Neitiznot helm.

5. Use Spirit Shield and get a Verac's Helm, with Cannon.

 

I was leaning towards option 2, as its good defence with no offense losses. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go with option one if you really need a shield, other than that I don't see paying the price for a verac's helm when you could get by with a neitizot helm.

Honestly, I would just use a ranger helm.

Summer's End is probably right up there with Monkey Madness and Desert Treasure as one of the most dangerous quests in the game; however, even though you're likely to die, it's not hard per se. You should be able to do it.

 

On the part where you chop the cursed willow logs to build pyres, it may help to build all the pyres before lighting them, because as you light them the Beast's attacks get faster.

 

Verac's Helm is not significantly better than a Helm of Neitiznot, so no need to spend money on it.

Most tasks rune kite isnt working that well, and i have the money to spend. I have heard about dieing, but losing 10k isnt much.

If you still want to use a cannon, but need a shield better than a rune kite, there is always the dragon square. It's not a big hit to your range bonus, and it has alright defense.

Never wear anything but either of those items on a slayer task.

 

BBS or D square is your best bet right now though.

Black mask doesn't work when ranging; try actually reading the post before you reply. Personally, I'd go with either 2 or 4, depending on how wiling to spend money you are.

Cannoning isn't really worth it, especially on a 10m budget that you need to use on other things also.

Cannoning is such a big money loser, so I guess im sticking with BSS, as dragon square is like 10 more defence.

I use just void. And the few occasions I need to tank I still use void. Unless it is something you need to wear facemask, where I will just wear slayer helmet and karils, and DFS.

 

Tanking is all about defense, but if you have 99 def and a little pony you can tank most tasks ranging using void except the obvious such as dark beasts.

Why not use a torag helm and veracs skirt (if you're one of the "PRAY BONUS MATTERS!@!@!@!" people) with black dhide body, barrow gloves, avas accumulator, fury, rune kite and dragon boots?

I have 81 defence and this works out well.

Only use Verac's if you plan on using 10% Ranged bonus Prayer. If you don't plan on using it Verac's is a waste and you should rather just go with Torag's. Use a Dragons SQ Shield, BSS is really NOT worth it (unless you do Armadyl GWD were the Magic Bonus is a +). Wear D'hide Body or Karil's if you must. But to be honest, if you use Torag's Helm and Legs you're already going to have a good eough Def Bonus so you should then use Unholy book for a shield. Spend your leftover money on a Cannon and Cannonballs. Cannon tasks such as Banshees, Abby Specs, Black and Greater Demons. SafeSpot the rest. Kill Dagannoths in the CT with Monk Robes, Fury, Unholy Book, Mitre, Barrows Gloves, etc. Dont waste money on them by cannoning if you can make profit when Praying.

I bought the Verac's Helm and the BSS, and I have to say, it pwns! Also, Torags Helm+legs is roughly the same defence for less offense, which doesn't make much sense.

When I ranged slayer for 93-94 range, I just tank ranged everything in void+zammy book with either bunyip (in non multicombat) or geyser titan (in multi). This worked out pretty well, enhanced excalibur + inventory of monkfish usually lasts you a full task, and if it doesn't having to bank once isn't the end of the world. You might want to buy a bss for stuff like nechs, but it really isn't that neccesary.
