Noob question - what is 76 king? i dont play RS much anymore, but i keep hearing about it.

Standing in PvP for hours with 76k+ risked to gain EP.

 

After you get good EP you find someone to die with 76k and hope that you get great loot.

This should be in Help and Advice, but anyway..

 

76king is basically a way to abuse the pvp drop system. The system will generate loot if the person dies has at least 75k on them, and most of the time(like 99% of the time), the drop will be many many times greater than 75k. So people would pair up, one person would have 75k worth of money/item on him/her and the other person would kill that person for a chance of getting great loot. I think people carry 76k is because they don't want to use the absolute limit or something? That I don't know.

Think of it as a way to create tons of GP out of nothing, for little to no effort.

Back on topic, 76k ing is a method where a person with high EP kills a willing person who has nothing but 76k on them. Then normally the killer banks the loot then becomes the killed. This is basicly a way to abuse Jagex's drop system. This has really just made PVP into people sitting around for EP then 76k ing. The rewards for this are pretty good drops in the form of ancient artifacts that you can trade in for pure GP. And that leads to another thing, the massive inflation. With people only losing 76k to gain up to like 5M or more there is a massive amount of GP coming into the game with nothing leaving. And with hundreds or thousands of people doing this all day, it really adds up.

Earning Potential, you gain it for spending time outside of a safe zone on a PvP or BH world.

Why don't they just make the minimum to get good drops like 250k instead of 76.. i mean a real pker isn't gonna pk in gear worth 76k.. would this not solve nething?

It'd be called 251king then instead. Also lower levels could not pk.

They could bring it back by requiring confirmation of payments prior to membership, IP ban Southeast Asia, and reintroduce free trade, classic PvP system, and removal of limits on the grand exchange. But that's another topic entirely.

Yeah, by the time Jagex makes a reasonable move towards RWT and inflation, hell will have a bobsled team.

Lol funny that a lot of you don't know exactly about 76k'ing :P And I don't know if I should tell you. There is a way to appear to risk 76k, but upon death you lose nothing. This is actual 76k'ing
