October 17, 200916 yr I wouldn't listen to Hextriplet if you know what's good for you. Honestly I really don't know what to suggest apart from wiping your hard disk and starting over. If you're having this much virus trouble than I doubt that it's worth the huge headache of fixing it. If you don't have a Windows disk then you'll have to buy one. Never, ever pirate an OS. The user has given us hardly any details about what he/she is experiencing. While it may become necessary to reformat and reinstall, there is no reason to reach that conclusion so hastily; Hex offered a legitimate (albeit simplistic with lack of details) fix. What exactly does the dialog box say before your system shuts down?
October 18, 200916 yr First experience says it is MS Blaster worm... to which there is a removal tool; and patch against. Other than that, no idea.
October 18, 200916 yr A screenshot or full copy of the messagebox would be very helpful for us to know exactly what your problem is.
October 18, 200916 yr if you have any time to download and install something before the shutdown get this software called trojan remover linkright here downlaod and install, its shareware so after 30 days you have to pay for it but you have 30 days! so install then after just run a scan i am 99% sure it will find the virus and delete it.I use this software myself i have the full version and i have also had viruses, alot of my friends come to me to help them with viruses and i use this, everytime it gets rid of it. try also click start, click run, type in msconfig and then click the startup tab more then likely the virus is in there so uncheck anything that looks odd or that you cant recongize and reboot. usually reformating is not needed. good luck
October 18, 200916 yr Start, run, shutdown -a That will abort it, however it won't solve all of your problems. After you abort it, do a system scan and see if it solves the problem. It may not be a virus causing it, but a failing essential process.

October 18, 200916 yr Installed windows recently? When does it occur? Randomly? Shortly after booting? Do a sweep for the MS Blaster worm anyways, and in the meantime, when you get that shutdown message: Start > Run > shutdown -a
October 18, 200916 yr Author I tried your link Dark, I followed the instructions and everything but it said it was found on my Computer after the scan. Divine Forces | #DF on irc.seersirc.net | Most Motivated | http://rs-df.com/forums
October 18, 200916 yr is there a .bat file in startup because you can have that sometimes as a sort of virus?and "shutdown -a" works for me.
October 18, 200916 yr Only the noobiest (I know that's not a word) viruses and malware are removable using msconfig. It says an essential process crashed, which is what I was saying earlier. do shutdown -a, scan with a good scanner like 'cureit'. You will most likely have to do a massive system restore/format either way.
October 19, 200916 yr Try combofix (google it for the latest download) after using the above command (shutdown -a).If it fails to catch/fix it work your way though the following programs; malwarebytes antimalware, superantispyware, spybot S&D and your AV. If these all fail post a hijackthis log here. October 19, 200916 yr Author I didn't needed to reboot :) I used this: Open the Registry Editor by going to the Start menu, choosing Run, typing regedit and pressing ENTER. Now click the little plus sign (+) next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Scroll down and click Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion, then Run. Scroll through the panel on the right. One line should show the file name of the offending program. Scroll back to the left, click the beginning of the line and press Delete. October 20, 200916 yr Please say you didn't just kill a registry key relating to services without researching it first.Deleting anything your not 100% sure about from the registry can seriously break your windows install.
