thunderlord
As i'm closing in to my goal of 99 fletching, I will try to get 99 mining (maybe anyone read my blog...) I'm asking you: what are the average xp rates in f2p and p2p? is it really worth staying p2p only for the mining? If I go f2p, I only know of one good powermining spot, the rimington mines, anyone has xp rates of that? If I stay p2p, I think I will powermine granite till 80, and then do concentrated gold all the way to 99, according to some calculations, this should net me about 80mill, right? What are the average xp rates at granite and concentrated gold? (<--- using Dpick) thanks
blakdragon39
I powertrained granite from about 78 to 85, and I couldget about 50k exp an hour. I wasn't OVERLY serious about it, but I've heard of people getting about 60k an hour. I've never trained on just gold, so I can't help you there, sorry. I'm pretty sure that powermining iron in f2p is anywhere between 40k to 45k an hour.
Slayer_Jesse
if you stay p2p, use the ardy cloak to tele to the monastary, mine a load of iron, and bank with cw rings. good xp and profit! Evil_Sabre
I really, really don't recommend you "go for 99" from 73 mining. Mining is an extremely slow and tedious skill, you'll burn yourself out by the time you hit 80.

Youmu
Iron powermining: 35k exp/hour on average. It does not have to be in Rimmington btw. @ txinghorns22: It is possible to go from 73 - 99 Mining. He won't "burn out" since the exp rates add up and eventually he will hit 99. Well, when i'm bored of mining I think I'll just do a farming run and a quest or something, or maybe train another skill, and then get back to 99 ^^ since the first day of my account I wanted to 99 mining =P (till 70 I have never powermined... :P)
Cptbaker08
There is a quest that allows you to use a bank deposit box near Remmington. Idk the quest but I'm sure you can find it. You can then use that, even on a F2P world, to deposit items. You can either do that or just sell them to the General store if you all not into the cash but rather the epx. Lady_Shahdie
I can confirm that the Rimmy rate in f2p is indeed 35k an hour. Unfortunately because I became a member after 99 mining, I didn't have much time to experiment with granite, but I'm quite sure its easily the best raw xp of the game (upwards of 50k an hour for the efficient miner). However, I've spent quite some time getting familiar with concentrated gold, and I can tell you, it is the best balance for profit and xp (40-45k xp an hour whenever I mine there...and an average of 600+ gold every hour). If you do wish to stick with f2p, do not fear...at 85 the skill becomes incredibly profitable with runite ore! Bear in mind though, runite mining is something you do as a break from training. While training in f2p, your profits will be minimal, unless you decide to stick it out and bank all your ores till the very end. Also, disregard the fears of burnout, just know when to take breaks and stay consistent! I didn't try to duplicate my record of 500k+ mining xp each training session :P...I usually did 80-100k xp and called it a day. I even took breaks for months at a time and still managed to complete my journey. The most important thing is to be confident in the fact that you will eventually, GET THERE! Best of luck to you ... ~Retired 13-July-2010~Thanks for the great memories folks :).

Thanks  I know you have a lot of experience with it, your blog was simply amazing to read  I think I will just try f2p and p2p mining, and if I think granite and concentrated gold is that much of a difference I will just stay p2p, and otherwise I will go the same way you did, f2p =) (I find it amazing that you did it all f2p =))
