Ok Y_Guy I read through some topics here and I am just wondering a couple things

 

1. What is tanking?

 

2. Is Downfall the number one in runescape?

 

3. Is clan wars or pk wars more popular?

 

4. How does a war actually happen in pk world, in clan wars obviously it is most kills or whoever loses all their people but how does this work in pking?

 

5. Can anybody recommend any clans that would be good for a first timer?

1. Tanking in a nutshell is essentially using barriers and obstacles to get away from the clan piling you, and prolong your life as much as possible.

 

2. I'd like to think Downfall is ranked somewhere in the 20-30 range. Far from #1 though. If you want to see what other people think, this topic gives a feel for a rough clan ranking (its all opinions though).

 

3. On these forums clan wars is more popular, but among the top clans pvp warring is definitely more popular.

5. Unless you have lots of rune sets, I'd recommend joining a clan wars arena clan first to get some experience, then move on to pvp clans once you're competent in cwa.

I'll just explain it a bit basically;

 

1. Dragging the opponent's clan away and keep them busy for a while, you do this by hugging (leaving the pile behind a wall or a tree a rock on the ground) while eating food and using prayer... (If you look up a video on YouTube you can see for yourself)

 

2. Downfall is ranked first in the Tip.it TWR rankings, this doesn't mean they are the best clan of RuneScape...

 

3. Hard to say, both are very popular, but I think there are more clans which do clan wars then pvp (every clan does clan wars once in a while).

 

4. It's about how many options you have on the end of the war, but it happens that a clan just quits after a while, mostly pvp wars are pkri's (pk run-ins, where you can still come back to the fight when you died, these pkri's can be 1 hour or longer).

 

5. We're not allow to recruit for any clan in here, take a look yourself in the "Recruitment" section.

1. What is tanking? Tanking is attempting to survive while being piled (attacked by the majority of other clan members)

 

2. Is Downfall the number one in runescape? No, probably one of the more active ones that post here. The top clans at the moment are in a bit of a mess.

 

3. Is clan wars or pk wars more popular? Smaller clans do clan wars, larger ones do pkris.

When the opposing clan piles you, you try to stay alive as long as possible by praying and eating, and using obstacles to get the other clan off of you.

No, they are #1 in the TWR.

Depends on what type of clan or size of clan you join.

Either the clans set a cap, of any amount of hours, whoever has the most options at the end wins. Or the clans can set up an uncapped fight, where a clan claims victory when the opposing clans stops returning.

Check the recruitment forum and see what you like, i suggest a clan wars clan to start off.

1. What is tanking?

In order to give your clan a chance at winning you want to survive as long as possible right? So you make it hard for them to kill you. If you stand still they don't even have to bind you, but if you run eat and drag/ get them stuck you're making them work. They run out of energy as well.

LOL. No. Far from it, probably un-ranked by most people seeing as they don't pvp much anymore.

Considering the amount of clans out there I'd say Clan wars. But with that said the quality of clans/clanners are in Pvp clans

Who ever has most ppl [ opts - options ] at the end of a time cap or one clan will stop returning.

PKM, they'll teach you and drill you. Only downside is they allow multiclanning and will probably have trouble being stable and will get flamed.

Basically trying to prevent from being hit by other players through side stepping and running.

Nope, they are the number one on TWR.

Clan wars is more popular in TIF, but in general PK wars aka PKRI are more popular.

Two ways this can happen, the two clans can arrange a war before hand or they just run into each other in the wilderness. There are two types of wars, Capped PKRI and Uncapped PKRI, Capped basically places a time limit on the duration of the war. Once the time is up, the clans would count the clan members left, whichever clan have the most number of people left is the winner. Uncapped have no time limit and it only ends when a clan forfeits.

 

5. Can anybody recommend any clans that would be good for a first timer?

Seriously though PKM does many many many many warring drills which is helpful for a first timer, and in reply to the above poster, the multi-clanning policy will be aborted in a month or so. After that all members who is multi-clanning will be kicked unless they wish to leave their other clan, so it is not a big deal.

No we probably like 30ish. #1 on twr though.

Clan wars because not all clans pk and no matter what every clan will have CWA fights once in a while.

Depends. If its uncapped, then it is which ever clan gets tired of fighting and leaves the war. The last clan standing wins. If the war is like 1 hour then it goes for one hour and whoever has most people at the end wins. Just put your mouse over the people following the leader to see who has more.

If your not looking for much pk then Lgz or Dv is probably a good first timer. If your looking for pk and are 105+ join downfall with me :smile:

Hugging obstacles and dragging when you are being attacked by more than three people to waste run energy of your opponents and to avoid as many hits as possible. The better you do it, the more kills you clan can get while they are still piling you.

No, but if you're getting into clans I would recommend a CWA clan which are mostly unranked. The Top clans shift from time to time, but to get a good idea, look at Top 10/20/30 lists. (Examples include Violent Resolution, Divine Forces, Echo of Silence, RuneScape Dinasty)

PvP wars are more popular, however, as I said, if you are starting out a CWA clan is always better.

In uncapped fights, they last until one clan leaves. For example, one historic fight between Shadow Elves and Damage Inc lasted for 10.5 hours.

 

In capped fights, there is usually a predetermined amount of time it will last. For example, 2 hour cap, 1 hour cap, 90 minute cap. At the end of that time, the clans will stop fighting, spam "Times up" and go side by side to show their ending options (found by hovering your mouse over the clan members falled in on the leader). Whoever has the most options/members by the end of the fight wins.

 

5. Can anybody recommend any clans that would be good for a first timer?

 

CWA clans are always the best choice for first-timers. I would not recommend PvP clans at all until you are used to the dos and don'ts of clanning.
