On Castle Wars Clans.

 

It has always intrigued me what PK clans think of Castle wars clans.

 

Originally, PK clans and CW clans mixed a lot, I personally had experience of PK Vs CW wars, first having a Best of 3 Cw war, and then a PK war. And there was also a large war many years ago involving CWG (probably the strongest cw clan ever) labeled "CWG vs the world", i remember quite a few of the top PK clans of the time attending, it was a great game.

 

They both have some large similarities, such as spending massive amounts on Wars. Cw clan members often spend 1m+ on wars with PVP armour, and it's pretty obvious that PK clans have to spend money on wars.

 

They also both take a lot of organisation. With PK clans, people have to know to listen to the leaders and attack the right people, go to the right places etc. CW clans i could argue take more, with having to organise each specific person to a specific spot, and then having to have trust in that person to stay there. Which brings me on to trust. In a PK war it's essential, you don't want your clan members turning on you, that obviously won't help you win, and you also need the confidence in them to keep returning to the battle. You also need confidence in your clan in a CW war too. Confidence that the other parts of your team can do their job. There is nothing more disheartening than defending perfectly for a war, but having your clans scorers do a dreadful job.

 

 

So what are your views on cw clans?

Having been in one once long ago I have nothing against them. I doubt I'll join one again but it's tough to say which kind of fight is more fun. I think they can be equally intense for the members of either as people in both can be extremely involved in them.

I doubt I'd join one, but it's always fun for the occasional fight in Castle Wars. I remember having one in SE.

Er? Lol..Cool? This is like asking me what my views are on skillers, or questers or w/e...We all play scape and enjoy something.

My friend was into it and I think was in a clan. I'd join one if I had members and the time + money.

 

 

Which do you think has more fun?

CW but at same time not sure if they use audio,forums,irc as actively as Pk clans. I enjoy talking on audio irc and forums. Not to mention having some posts to publicly read is nice, not sure they post wins which is fine but I like how we get to read up on other clans and what's happening.

 

 

Which do you think is more intense to be in, and has more intense wars?

CW - shorter amount of time.

PK - Can get epic.

 

Both have pros and cons; Me personally I'll take a good ole f2p pkri. You can gain loots while in CW all you do is virtualy waste/loose money. Barrage fest can be annoying too >.>

I prefer pking, as it can be accessed in both p2p and f2p while castle wars is members only.

It's a toss up depending on how each war goes.

So what are your views on cw clans?

 

I used to be at CW all the time I was on RS back around 2005-2006 and I have enough tickets to get into a lot of CW clans but while I think CW clans are fun and are absolutely fine I think CW is what I have come to dislike. When I played very few people had ancient magic and even fewer had barrage, there were no God Swords or D Claws or anything else that had the possibility of 1 hitting you (apart maybe from the dds) and I played on a world where there wasn't really a team but everyone knew each other (world 69) and was one of the best CW worlds around in terms of quality of player. Now it is different, you don't really have to know how to play and so my view on CW is that it has been ruined by Jagex and therefore so have CW clans.

I was clan friend in a CW clan once upon a time but they had very strict multi clanning rules and so I could not join as a member as I was already in my pking clan, I wouldn't consider joining one now.

pking/warring is far more fun than CW now.

I would probably have thought about saying CW clans a while back, having the flags be a focal point created a lot of activity around them but with it not being very organised there was just a lot more going on in a way. Now I have to say pk clans have more intense wars, I simply dislike CW wars now, without barrage and Bandos/3rd age/Barrows armour/weapons there is not a whole lot you can do and 1 person can take out 5 or 6 people at once simply through having better equipment.

No, I have not and will never be in a CW clan. It's just not for me.

CWars I think people are thinking about the money they are wasting and since the games are safe, there is no incentive cept special armor after a couple thousand games.

 

PVP is dangerous and that's why alot of people like it. High risk = High Reward.

PVP due to the amount of risk involved.

CWars I bet does have some fun because of the fact you can get best weapons/spells/bolts in game and use them without the worry about losing them upon death.

I think that they aren't as recognizable to Jagex like the powerhouse PVP clans are, clearly shown by the Jagex Cup, aimed at PVP/CWA clans and Skilling Clans.

I personally prefer Soul Wars, and I don't have the time to join one.

 

Which do you think has more fun?

Castle Wars is fun, no doubt about it, but there's nothing more fun than seeing your clan enjoying themselves when they're winning a war.

All PVP wars and CWA Matched wars are probably the most intense wars, but I've never experienced a Castle Wars war, so uncomparable for me at the moment.
