But when I attack with wolves, the lion KOs them when it retaliates.

I took one down, but then it just summoned another =\

it takes 3 black knights/rangers/mages to take down a lion. They are slow so it's easy to get a slug near them for the last 10hp.

Completed the last one, now I'm trying to get all gold medals.

any idea how to beat the mission for greater demons? i can capture the first portal, but then i get bogged down fighting icynes.

Perakp pretty much covered in on the previous page. Two 20/20 rangers can drop an icyene down to 4/40 health (rendering it fairly useless). I hardly used black knights at all on that mission, used mainly rangers (and a few mages for the lions/knights) to push from the second portal to the third.

Crossing the Salve was ridiculously easy. There was absolutely no opposition at all. Quite honestly it was a joke, Hallowglade was harder.

So far, I've found Mort'ton to be the hardest, but primarily because Saradomin is guaranteed more resources than you in the beginning of the game. I've yet to complete the last two missions (or start them), but we'll see.

Would it be better to have a Black Knight or Greater Demon with Vampyric Blood?

Greater would benefit more through it really not needed too much because its has the Highest Strength in game through its still better to use it if you have it rather than not using it at all.

Got all the achievements from zammy campaign now :)

over 1200 points in conquest of hallowvale

Ok, I've noticed that difficulty is varying from player to player on each level.

For example, in Phasmatys the hellhounds were eaten alive by the mages, and never made any barbarians at all. So all I had to do was slowly make my way to steal the hellhound portal, and then spam ranegrs until the mages all died.

Yet in Slayer tower, the AI constantly spams Greater Demons, which are more than enough to overrun me without mages.

But my difficulties are coming from Mort'ton. Saradomin just has a such a huge property advantage, and my hellhounds only an kill two barb chieftans before the lion scares them off.

The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. The intent is the same-- to harm others.

I told her there was a secret method to doing it - and there is - but my once nimble and agile fingers were unable to perform because I was under the influence.

I would laugh, not hate. I'm a male. :(

What I did was play heavy defense on the left-wing, and whenever I had a chance (admitably not often), I sent a Barbarian to the right-wing to capture a few villages. I also kept a Hellhound/Ranger on the right side to deal with anything threatening that side.

On the left is where the action is. Simply play heavy defense, as I mentioned. Pretty soon there will be tons of bones. From there, summon a Necromancer. Keep playing heavy defense until you have a few skeletons. Then you can take advantage of the fact that skirmish units (ie, the skeletons) are fairly high on the AI's priority, and the fact that a unit can only attack once. Send in all your skeletons, which will absorb the bulk of the impact, then have a Ranger or something Portal-Camp.

The AI rarely summons lions. I dealt with perhaps 3 the entire time. In Mort'ton, if you gave the AI a choice between a lion and 3 Paladins, it would pick the Paladins.

Well, I had a break through. The mage level turned out to be far easier than i thought (just pit the mages and Saradomin against each other and then attack).

That amde Slayer Tower a breeze. And mages+ gargoyles totally destroyed Mort'ton.

So now all I have left are the two final levels. Which I'll do when I have a few hours to spare.

I find myself stuck on those two. Mainly because I'm having lots of difficulty finding a hole to advance.

So does this mean all three of us can't get past the last 2 levels.

It means I have tried yet.

If I manage to beat one of them, I'll share my technique, though.

What I've been doing is following the instructions given on the last page, but I can't seem to push ahead fast enough to prevent the spamming of Icyenes, which then keep me bottled up at the second portal.

Well, I just beat it, so here ya go:

First have one barbarian race down the road to the second portal as quickly as possible. Capturing this is very important.

The second barbarian can capture houses at your leisure.

On your first turn use "shrine of zamorak" to get your favor to two, and zummon and ranger, so that the owls can't do too much damage. Have it shadow your portal bound barb.

If all goes well, you should get the first portal easily. I'd also recommend you use rain of fire on the paladins and knight that try to intercept you. This will make the paladins harmless, and hopefully the knight will be stuck behind them.

Once you get the second portal, spam rangers and mages.

I never even summoned a single knight during the game. After all, you can destroy the fliers easily if you have range units.

Your second barbarian should be capturing the house and portal that are north of the second portal.

Then fight your way on to the third portal, and after you capture it, summon about 5-6 gargoyles.

Then send them after the leader unit. Ignore everything but it, and you should manage to kill it.

Then you've won.

Great, thanks! I utterly destroyed that level. Ended up swarming his leader with like 10 Gargs with like 5 rangers and 5 mages.

I have now also beaten the level. :P

Well, I just beat the Zarosian level (and got a gold medal, whoo), so if any of you need advice, feel free to ask.

If you just want a hint, however....

[hide=Hint]

Let Saradomin and Zaros duke it out while you sneak around and gather property.

Also, rangers and gorgoyles are great here for their speed. Although demons and mages are good for late game.[/hide]

Too bad I finished the level this morning with gold.

So, it's time to start going for the gold?

Eh, I think to get gold one of the things you have to do is completely fulfill the objective.

All those objectives that said something along the lines of "capture key building" or "capture all portals", I just overwealmed + portal camped and ended up with silver since I got too annoyed to fulfill the objective.

You need over 1000 points to get gold and the amount of points is determined with two variables: number of turns used to win and the damage you took in the game.

Basically you just capture as many houses as possible and build up numbers and attack taking as little damage as possible, and win as fast as possible.

In Hallowvale for example I summoned 4 gargoyles at the 2nd portal and took them to kill the leader. If I had gone for the 3rd portal it would've taken more turns and I would've taken more damage.

The earlier maps are easy now that you have all the units and spells.

Fun and addicting Game :D/
