If you are looking for fast xp, sharks isn't your best bet.

Fly fishing in shilo and barbarian heavy rod fishing give faster xp then sharks.

I assume you're not using brawlers....

for any stat?

Chinning or Barraging skeles/mummies/rock lobs are very fast xp, about 400k/hour

Cooking sharks is good

Prayer is fast too, with d bones

If you have FM gloves, use those with mage logs.

Construction is fast, making oak dungeon doors.

what's a good way to raise exp? i'm racing some friends in total exp, i'm just doing sharks right now is that pretty much the best practical?

For what stats are you aiming to raise?

What XP are you racing him too and what are you now?

Are you using Brawlers if you PK?

I think he means cooking sharks. That's pretty fast xp. Hard to get very much faster without spending loads of cash, so seems like a good choice.

If he is just Cooking Sharks, im sure you know this already but DON'T FORGET COOKING GAUNTLETS IF YOU AREN'T USING BRAWLERS.

If you've got the charms (crimson and blue!) saved up, the leveling of summoning (with Kyatts and Duel rings, if I recall) is absolutely second to none. You're looking at 400-500k exp / hour in your sleep. It's crazy! It's also expensive, but summoning has a way of paying you back for your "investment".

Not trying to take over this topic but, how does Summoning have a way of paying you back for your "investment"?

Massive reduction in healing costs as well as saving time for a lot of things (teleports, BoB and so on).

Bunyip is ~3k per pouch which heals 360 so its less then 12gp per hp.

Unicorn is ~300gp per 14hp scroll which is less then monkfish and stackable.

    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]
