zotto
So I can make super antifires. What do you do then? You go to the iron dragons with a zamorakian spear on stab. To my surprise it didn't really seem to go faster than the old method of whip + DFS. So I did a small test.Super antifire + super att + super def + super strenght dose, with different weapons. Zamorakian spear on stab - couldn't finish the job of 5 iron dragos before the superantifire ran out.Whip + rune defender - finished 5 iron dragons in 5:30SGS on crush - finished 5 iron dragons in 5:00SGS on slash - finished 5 iron dragons in 5:00 I know it isn't really a big test, but this small test confirmed my feeling that the zammy spear on stab wasn't really a major improvement. In fact it seemed slower. And of course I actually had to eat more because I received more damage. What's really the best weapon for metal dragons? Did anyone do any massive testing? (a long time ago I did a longer test with iron dragons using leafbladed sword on stab and whip. Whip won also).
Ermy
Well i always assumed metal drags have plate like armour, which is weaker to slash if you have a look at any plate. Another part your missing out using a spear is that it has no aggresive option. Those with a little bit of knowledge are more dangerous than those with none. D Jay99
I found zs was a lot better than whip/dfs at mithril dragons, but maybe it doesn't matter as much at iron dragons because their defence is much lower.
anonymous_user
Leaf-bladed sword stabbing is surprisingly good if you can hit high with it. I haven't really tried it on a non-slayer-task though. Feel free to test it.
Cptbaker08
I found zs was a lot better than whip/dfs at mithril dragons, but maybe it doesn't matter as much at iron dragons because their defence is much lower. This is why. Irons are weak enough any way you might not find any sort of difference. On Steels or Miths you would notice the difference that the ZS would give. The same goes if you were to use the LBS on irons or steels/miths. I only used the LBS on irons because i want strength exp. Also, I think the last line that I've pasted from your OP is an explanation for why the Zammy Spear came out slower in your test--eating. Most people meleeing those dragons use Protect Melee or Deflect Melee (faster kills yet). If you switch to these methods and stop using the tanking method, I have a hunch that Zammy Spear will kick your previous numbers in the pants. 88 Summoning and/or Soul Split are other alternatives to eating leading to ZS winning the day, I think. Maybe you already used a Unicorn, since you have 88? What was the rest of your set-up, if I may ask? Did you use Prayers at all? Thank you for the testing you're doing by the way, as I think this will benefit numerous others (myself included). I wish I could test this myself, but I don't have the Herblore level at this time. *******"All that is gold does not glitter..."
Sy_Accursed
Dragons are weaker to stab. But at the same time DPS comes into the equation. If stats wise you are pretty weak for fighting dragons stabbing yeilds a better DPSBut as soon as you get good > great stats for fighting them you can yield better DPS with faster weapons (slash) or stupid high str bonus hitters (gs) Mith dragons are the only ones regularly stabbed cause their stats are so high than even a maxed player will have difficult getting higher DPS on them with a whip or gs Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue
Cantristenon
I haven't tried myself because i don't have super antifires yet but I'd give a try also for full veracs and full dharoks :)
