JohnDillon
Driving around today in Iraq in the 53,000lbs MRAP and my driver almost rolled us over, a fortunate cement block in the ditch saved us, but dang, it was a close oneThese things are great for IED's and small arms fire, but they are incredibly top heavy and most fatalities occur from roll overs. The worst part is...IT CRACKED THE SCREEN ON MY ITOUCH!$@!% "Oh, no room for Bender, huh? Fine! I'll go build my own lunar lander, with blackjack and hookers. JohnDillon
I'm in the military, the gentleman you see in the picture is a contractor. "Oh, no room for Bender, huh? Fine! Lenticular_J
I thought MRAPs were only deployed to Afghanistan? Or is that something else I'm thinking of? Ah well. I guess your driver feels sort of bad. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
JohnDillon
As far as I know they are in Afghanistan. I imagine the ones here will end up over there soon as the war here draws to an end, or given to the Iraqi Army. They are pretty awesome though, you feel very safe driving in one of those bad boys. JohnDillon
There are certain things I cannot say about this vehicle or show pictures of. With the internet overseas and soldiers using Facebook we are constantly briefed on what constitues information violating operational security. This doesn't fall into that category, you can see the outside of an MRAP on google if you wanted. "Oh, no room for Bender, huh? Fine! I'll go build my own lunar lander, with blackjack and hookers. Kriegsmier
OPSEC....lol. Its a joke most times. What branch of service? Army? What part of Iraq (PM me if you need/want to) I just got back from TQ. Yeah, and those MRAPs are also uncomfortable to ride in. Pretty bumpy ride, and you hit your head often. Cool thing is, and this I can reveal to you ;) A lot of them have speakers that can plug into an Ipod. MRAPs are in Iraq and Afghanistan. Afghanistan just got the brand new ones that are replacing the HUMMWV. MRAP ATV (M-ATV)....these things are just plain SICK looking. We ship more and more out from Charleston each day. Every day i drive by them and wish I had one for fun purposes.[hide][/hide]

aquariusman
Reminds me of this: How do you embed Youtube videos in these forums nowadays? There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. Now THAT is awesome! =D> Just so we're clear, though; are they REALLY allowed to do that sort of stupid [cabbage] with the equipment over there? Sure, it helps with morale, but I don't think that's very safe. Still, that was funny as all Hell. Kriegsmier
Allowed? Not technically on paper/rules. But some commands don't really care that much as long as no one gets hurt. That'd be a butt chewing, but probably nothing more. Well worth it IMO.
