Obtaining lockpicks?

Featured Replies

Never had any knowledge of them and I need them for DT cause I'm just now getting to it.. heh. Tip it says I can purchase them at the Rogue's Den but I'm there and I don't see anywhere to buy them or rogues to pickpocket for that matter? Also how many are needed for DT?

There is a guy there named Martin Thwaitt (sp?) who sells them. I believe you need certain agility and/or thieving levels to buy from him, though. If you are unable to get them, maybe someone who is training cooking will buy them for you.

I went through about 50 or so when I did Desert Treasure, but that is strictly a matter of luck.

Edit: just to be clear, the Rogues Den is under the pub in Burthorpe, in case you might be looking elsewhere :)

Of course I wasn't looking around the training camp thing frantically... thank you! =]

Also for future reference they spawn in the agility dungeon next to Yanille, or you could even pick-pocket bandits near the chest to receive both anti-poison and lock picks.

As for how many you will need, I used about 20 ish. <_<

Can never have too many lockpicks, especially for DT (I went through 3 invs of lockpicks and food trying to get that [bleep] cross). Also you will get poisoned and hurt at the chest so bring a method to heal yourself and some anti-poisons.

I only had one lockpick, I figured it wouldn't be hard...I spent the rest of the time pickpocketing bandits for a lockpick, breaking it, and repeating! So you did a good thing with 80...wish I was that smart!

Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.
