Ares uses geomancy to create a box of rock around the ground the mandrake is planted in.

Grim notes the area in which the "portal" is in before continuing to pace back and forth (how far away time wise am I from the ivory tower?)

Despite your patronising tone she obliges:

Society in the Shaper Empire is stratified into a number of distinct classes with varying levels of authority and privilege. Ultimate political and social authority rests with the Shaper Council. Next come the remaining Shapers, whose level of authority is determined by seniority and rank. Beneath them rest outsider humans who have been delegated political authority by the Shapers. Next come the artisans and magic users, soldiers, and then the remaining outsider humans, where the wealthy (such as successful business entrepreneurs) tend to have a higher level of social standing. At the very bottom of the social hierarchy rest the creations, who are slaves that must defer without question to the orders of Shaper and non-Shaper humans who have been entrusted by the Shapers with watching over creations.

Jen attempts to create a light orb, before calling out to Wubbles.

Ares fails to create the rocks and the Mandrake escapes, attacking your shins for some minor damage.

About 30 minutes...

"So basically, the enemy are rich and high class and pick on you guys because you are different and less rich? Sorry about my patronising tone, I will offer my services in your name"

Jen-

You fail to create a light orb.

You call out to Wubbles

"Mama!!" You hear from the other side...Then you hear footsteps on the gravel!!!!

[Grim_]

I summon the cart and cold-fire stallions and go to the ivory tower (Hey Icu do me a favor and ask about the guardians).

[Retech]

Jen attempts to create another light orb. If she succeeds, she backs up slightly (assuming there's nothing behind her) and tries to bust through the rocks with a powerful jet of water. She calls out to Wubbles "Don't move! Stay still!"

Umbra-

"The Shapers live in their luxury, hoarding their skills, giving us only the merest basics of what we need! They refuse to train those who do not meet their standards and rule with an Iron Fist! Your help means little to us without action!"

Grim-30 minutes then.

[Icuownage]

"Oh what bastards! I offer you training if you want, my magic skills may still be novice level but I will do anything I can"

Jen-

You fail.

 

"Mama!!!"

"Come here little one, don't worry, I got you."

"What are you doing?"

"Just talking a little..."

"Well don't, I need that life crystal not a little puppy."

"No harm in..."

"No Harm! Remember the last time you got attached to one of these things!"

"No..."

The voices fade away with the footsteps.

She thinks for a moment then offers you a quest...

"There is a gate not far south from here, I want you to break though it...it is guarded so be careful!"

[Retech]

Cursed Ivory Mage folks. :(

 

 

 

 

Jen, now frightened her baby golem has gone missing, attempts to bust the rocks open with a single gush of powerful water.

Igos goes back to the goblin village, and meets with the leader. "It is essential that my craftsmen use the quarry. I cannot find the Chesmoss character, and I don't know if I ever will. When I came upon this quarry it was deserted, and filled with dangerous scorpions, which I killed. Isn't this enough to gain access to it?"

Jen fails to break though the rocks...something tells you that they are too thick and too heavy.

[Retech]

Jen continues attempting to create a light orb. Once she does, she looks further into the cave. If there is nothing of interest, then she wanders in carefully, checking for traps or anything spooky.

Igos-

"It was Chesmoss who drove us from our quarry, who attracted the scorpians to it! We shall not pay you to undo the destruction he has wrought!"

Jen-

The cave seems very spooky and very dark too. Even with the light orb your shadows seem to dance more readily than usual....

[Retech]

Jen begins firing ice shards at the shadow, before calling out.

 

"What the hell do you want?"

 

Then she continues further into the cave, checking for traps and stuff, assuming nothing happened before.
