Spirit Terrorbird Pouches

Featured Replies

I have hundreds of them from training summoning. What's the best thing to do with them? High-alch? Sell on the GE, and if so, do they actually sell?

I can't imagine I would ever use this many.

Thanks for any information or advice.

You'd be surprised how quickly you burn through them.

As they are used via thier scrolls for tireless run and 1 scroll only = 50% energy

You can EASILY burn through 20+ scrolls per bird when using them.

20 scrolls = 2 pouches.

So yeah don't assume hundreds are useless, you'd be surprised how many pouches u can burn through for scrolls

I agree with Paw_Claw; 100 terrorbirds are enough to be used in ~1 week :))

OK, then! I will trust you both and convert some of the pouches to scrolls and save the rest.

By the way, in what circumstances do you find the run recovery scrolls helpful? I may not be using my Terrorbird to its best advantage.

For instance while doing a clue, a quest or anywhere you run a lot

I belive the scrolls restore 30%, so they burn even faster. But yes, they go incredibly fast. You can use them for doing quests, or combat, as they are also beast of burden(12 items), or clues as mentioned. There are a lot of uses for this wonderful familiar, and you'll love it!

Good advice, all of it. I think I will keep my bird with me for several hours of gameplay along with the scrolls so I get used to taking full advantage of it.

Sold on keeping the Terrorbird pouches!

Yes, just to touch on the subject to confirm everything, the scrolls restore half of your Agility level into energy %. So if you're Agility is level 70, then you will gain 35% every time you use a scroll.

Things that you can use a Terrorbird for:

-Sara GWD (if you ever do this, then it is great to have this and scrolls, especially solo runs)

-Agility/Runecrafting training

-If you train Summoning from just banking and running to the obelisk, then it's good to have a Terrorbird with scrolls, to keep up your energy (note, you wouldn't want to use the BoB function of the Terrorbird in this case, as you wouldn't be able to withdraw/deposit from the BoB, unless you were making scrolls).

-Any sort of activity that would require needing more than 28 inventory spots. Examples would be training on a Slayer task and you're using food, the BoB function of the Terrorbird can hold extra food for you. Also, if you are doing something where you get lots of drops or items that you need to bank. Examples being killing Dragons for their hides and bones, or on an Abberant Spectre task where you get lots of herbs and other drops.

So basically anything that requires more inventory space, or energy restoration, is assisted when you have Terrorbird pouches and scrolls.

The Devil's Advocate in me says that you might not use as many as you'd think -- there are a fair number of situations in which you don't need to restore energy that much (thanks to the run update in June) and the 12 slots sometimes just isn't enough for what you need to do. Yes, it is cheaper than war tortoises by a mile, but for a lot of things, the added inventory space is worth the cost. It might just be my decent agility level (77), but I haven't seen a need to use a terrorbird in the last couple months -- for me, it's either unnecessary or there's something out there that does the job better.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

I found them useful when chasing down an escaped, desert penguin. Those birds are *quick*.

If you find you aren't using them as often, you might want to exchange them for shards (7 shards per pouch iirc).

I advise NEVER to trade in "gold charm" pouches for shards. They are made with very few shards, so the shard return (75% or so?) is miniscule.

Our Summoning Table (link can be found on the Skill Guides menu page) has complete info for each pouch. It takes a few seconds to load because it fetches the latest prices for the seconds and pouches directly from the Jagex GE website pages.

I never use TB either (I'm 77 agility) but most of the high level players I know do, and they love it.

Just an FYI.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.

T birds are great for questing, penguins and my personal favorite cheap space.

For example if I'm going to KQ (not worth it at all, but still fun) or maging DK's you lose 1 inventory space due to rope/axe (and shanty pass in the case of KQ). So I put 3 items in the bird (1 to replace the rope/axe, 1 to replace the scrolls and 1 to replace the pouch I summon the moment I kill the t bird), take some scrolls in the inventory and fill the rest up with supplies. Not only does your primary familiar last longer, but you don't have to walk at all and you get 1 extra item.
