When Attacked, Do Magic Users Forget Their Spells? No ... So

Featured Replies

When attacked, do magic users forget their spells? No, so why does the axe released this week do this. I think this is because they are somehow trying to reduce the ability to perform some of the mass-attack spells.

An alternative to this would be to go to something akin to what is not used for prayer: a maximum total (based upon your magic level) that reduces based upon the spells thrown. As you rest (don't throw spells and don't run), you can points back similar to how the agility counter works today. If you throw a spell, a 5-sec delay is built in before you start accumulating spell points again.

The axe, in this case, could take away some percentage of your spell points but still make it possible for you to throw one of the upper-level spells before you would need to rest and get it back.

They could even come out with a potion that would allow you to gain your mage points faster, similar to the prayer pots.

Okay, let me have it. What do you think of this idea?

well, ahrim's gear makes you lose strength levels temporarily. but i agree that this axe owns both mages and rangers. and since you can wield it at level 1 attack, its a huge unbalance for the pk triangle

Thats a bug...

is that normal? being able to wear drag hatchet at lvl 1 attack...?

Personally...

I think the Dragon Axe and Seercull are readying Runescape for the dawn of summoning.

Think about it! I bet Summoning will be a major update to magic, and these were put in to help balence it out.

DAMIT quite saying its a bug that you can wield it at lvl 1... show me proof and ill belive you maybe jagex WANTS It that way!

New sigzor^^

dropping mage levels shouldnt stop you from using higher spells, it should just nerf the accuracy like an attack drop does to melee, besides meleers dont need anymore items to help them beat mages, they are supposed to be disadvantaged against mages for crying out loud

In terms of FORGETTING a spell: You won't lose the base level, so in truth the spell isn't really forgotten.

In terms of LOSING a spell's power: This is fine by me. I don't really care if they try to lower my magic; the triangle's been out of whack like that for a while now. (I mean, you can lower Melee stats, but not Magic? Doesn't that raise a flag?)

Are you serious? Go click on your attack in your stat menu, and check the weilding level for dragon. Its a bug.

when your casting a spell, you would have to concentrate with all your might to cast the spell. apparently, the dragon hatchet's magical powers makes it harder for the mage to concentrate, thus making it impossible to do the highest lvl spells for him.

personally, i think its great mages are the ones who are screwed this time. theres an easy way to get around it. super restore pots or simply using lower lvl spells, or taking a melee weapon with you ought to do the trick. stop whining because your not completely invinceble (sp?) anymore.

in short: quit your whining about how the new weaps are shafting the mages...

you've had the edge with the ancient spells over melee-ers AND ranger for months now...

Ugh... I know, I hate how mages can't use spells if their level is lowered... I used to be a member, If I was PKing as a member i'd just just GIVE all my stuff to every person with a dragon axe or seercull bow just so I wouldn't have to waste my time and be embarassed not being able to cast the spells I had brought so many runes for...
