~~Newer Bank Of Runescape~~ **Updated again 05/15/09**

I have a suggestion for the charity hall, maybe it's been suggested, but i really don't want to read that many pages.

It should be something like the Tears of Guthix, where it can only be accessed once every and there'd be different levels of charity you can receive. A brand new account would only be able to get items with a store price of 100gp or less, an account that was a week old could get things worth 1k or less, a month old account could get anything less than 10k, which covers most of what would be put into charity probably, and then 6 months would be 100k or less, and a year would unlock everything. Rares, whips, etc. would be categorized by an estimation of their street price. Also, the time between when you got something from charity, and then could get another could be lowered by donating things, however, cost would play into it, donating something that is basically worthless (think cabbage) would only take a minute off, or something along those lines.

What shop price would be used, specialty stores or general stores? There's a pretty big difference. And using street price for things like whips (if anyone actually donated one) would keep the game out of whack. The whip would cease to be a status symbol and the price would continually fluctuate.

Specialty would make the most sense I think, as people could have gotten the equivilant amount of money from high-alching. I don't really think that using the street price for items with high-street value but low shop value would really cause many problems, due to the scarcity of which they would be donated. I can't see how their position in the charity hall would affect anything else economically.

What if someone decided to put a phat in? They sell for like 2gp, and alching is 1gp, so any odd noob could suddenly have a phat!

Items first have to be donated to the hall, no items will be created to be deposited... and i don't know many people who would donate a party hat.

how do u get that bank

red alert the germany are dieing fropm the water of gufixs

I will admit to being a bit lazy as well for not reading all the previous posts. However, having skimmed various postings, I believe that the Charity hall COULD work. But let the principle be based on the Party room outside of Seers Village. :idea: Once the Charity hall has reached a limit of items (whatever items have been donated), the Hall would just randomly drop (balloons :?: ) with the items in it. Place it on the f2p side of RS so that everyone gets a chance, but the p2p items would still only show on the p2p worlds.

Again, this may have already been suggested, But I have to work for a living!

Fear not the shadows, as they are formed by the presence of light. But fear what lies within the shadows, for that is where you shall find me.

Fear not the shadows, for that means there is light somewhere... Therefore, fear the dark, as that is where I reside.

The charity hall sounds like a good idea. It can help low level players out for a little while, I think it should be a give and take though, if you take something out, put something in. :)

Love this idea

It only needs to be used for members

I think the blank button at the top sould be used for random bits of junk or stuff from random events :D

I can't say I can make this better :shock: Which is VERY rare. I have over 3000 posts in the suggestions forum. I have been playing for only 1 week and a day now. ::'

Mods, Mods, wherever you all are could some one please clean up this topic? I mean after all didn't you say that this topic was for ideas not support? I mean after all who wouldn't support it?

Ok, now back to the idea I mentioned earlier. For the icons for the slots, why not make a right click option for every item in the bank, that says some thing like

Set as Icon

This would give you not only the amount of icons you have now, but many more. I am not saying get rid the original icons that you made have those, but also have this. (keep your original Icons to skill icons.)

That's kinda the point, the price limitation I outlined were mainly oriented to prevent people from making accounts just to do the charity hall. A noob deserves to get a free phat as much as anyone

I like this idea! This would be cool

Okay, while some people may not like this, Thagern wanted our ideas/thoughts/suggestions/constructive critism, so here's my reality check for parts of your new bank system:

Honestly, the whole player-written text tabs that pop up would take up too much space on JaGex's servers to reliably keep track of the millions(?) of RuneScape accounts. You'll have to standardize everything about the system, and if people don't like it, tough. People didn't like RS2 when it came out, and became hardcore RSC junkies; same concept.

Twelve tabs, with semi-customizable icons and tab placement, should be more than enough when you consider that, with this new system, more items will be grouped together--fletching and woodcutting, for example--so one icons will stand for more than one skillset's items. I've tried to think about how this will change when JaGex adds more skills--like they've done recently with construction and hunting--but someone with a bit more brainpower and time can have fun pouring over that part.

I have a mixed opinion about the item locking function, as it will take up an amount of server memory to perform, but it's basically a decent idea. Now, with the "Unlock All" feature and locking items that have a zero count: will those zero-count items consume bank space? If not, JaGex servers have to eat the memory to store these zero-count items. If so, then the point of locking and unlocking items comes under more careful consideration.

The ghost item concept, however, is a little difficult to manage, unless the lock and ghost functions are used in combination, from what I'm thinking, to keep one stack of an item from going to zero and disappearing from the tab a player placed it under. I'm not too sure about the concept of the multi-subtract, though. How exactly will the system determine how much to deduct from one side of a stack verses the other?

Instead of creating a completely new building/area for the "Give Away" icon to target, why not move the existing Party Room to a free-to-play location, making it available to everyone, while having the "Give Away" icon target to the Party Chest? Maybe the size of the party chest will have to be increased quite a bit to accomodate this change, and the frequency of Party Pete's cleaning out junk from the chest stepped up a bit as well. There could be a thought as to reducing the cost for pulling the ballon-drop lever so more drop parties occur, but are still held in check.

The "Bin" icon is a great idea, but, instead of having a confirmation for each item, why not have a prompt that shows--only when items are placed in the bin--before exiting your bank that shows all the items in your 'Trash Bin' and a confirmation message that they will be dropped? This would save time for players upon the update being made, because I'm sure that everyone and their mother will be cleaning house at that time.

The current system of moving items--"Moving the items will be alot easier then origional, this was posted by someone (please tell me if it was you). If the re-arrange is set to 'insert' when you start to drag an item between the slots, the item will remain on your mouse. So after you drag it to the slot you wish to put it in, you will still be able to dragit through that slot, after it has opened. If it is set to 'swap', the item will go to the bottom of that slot, without it opening."--should be thought on a little more; maybe "Swap" is only available within an opened tab, and "Insert" can go between tabs?

The "What's This?" feature is easily done away with by JaGex stating that if you don't understand the new bank features, :wall: read the flipping Knowledge Base entries for it. :wall: Sorry, I don't understand why people don't use what is already available to them... :shame:

~~~
All in all, Thagern, this is a wonderful concept, and just needs tweaking here and there. Would you mind posting your current Tab Icon pictures with what combinations you have at the moment? People can then have an understanding of your ideas with that, and be able to help with new combination ideas. (I, for one, would love to put some mindpower toward that.)
And I LOVE this idea!!!!
wow! this is a fantastic idea - i spend far too much time tidying up in real life i hate to do it in rs! :D
