Well, I want to know if the Dragon Pick is worth it, is it that much better than a Rune pick? I'm working towards 99 Mining (slowly) and I want to know if it would increase my Mining speed or anything, help! :huh:

 

And yes, I know I'm not P2P Yet, but I will be once i get my pay-check, and I have more than enough to buy one. (36M)

From what others have told me (people who do a TON of concentrated gold mining), it increases mining speed by about 15%, so as long as you have the money and plan on doing a lot of mining, it is worth it.

It's worth: it has been proven to be 15% faster than a rune pickaxe, and you can always sell it back when you're done and pocket the extra time as pure profit (It shouldn't fluctuate enough for it to not be worthwhile, though get it after the weekend because it'll probably crash a little afterwards).

Both the d hatchet and pickaxe are a 15% improvement over their rune counterparts, and since you can sell both back when you're done they are worth every gp.

SC picks are rarely ever worth it. You usually receive about 1/2-2/3 the xp/hour you would normally get if you used a rune pick, and the deficit would be even larger if you were to use a dragon pick.

I feel it's worth it right now. It'll speed the mining up, plus you can sell it back afterwards for anywhere from a mild loss to a mild profit. I actually don't plan on selling mine, I just bought it to buy it.

I'm not much into mining, but I bought a dragon pic and it is my favorite piece of equipment that I have ever had... Definitely worth it.

from my own experience I tink that the dragon pick is better at con. gold then the rune.

just too bad it dropped 3m since i bought it :(

I used a Dragon Pickaxe to 99 mining and used Rune for a while just to see the difference and it's a pretty big margin between the two. I think it's worth it in the end if you're doing Concentrated Gold or Runite ores. Anything other than that and a rune pickaxe should do you just fine.

Anything coal and up is worth doing with dragon pick :P up to iron you can 1 pick :)

Which means you loose 20 minutes of mining to get double xp for about 20 minutes.

Makes it break even, so why not mine with r pick than.

I agree the SC picks aren't worth getting :P But when you have them, they have the same training speed ;-)

If you go with an sc clan, you can finish a game in maybe 10-15 minutes. Even with this shorter game time, it's still not worth it, however. The only reason I would suggest it is if you LOVE sc and HATE mining, that way it'll seem better to you, which is really all that counts.

its noticeably slower and has the melee stats of a bronze pick which makes me think its equivalent to bronze, I could be wrong though. (SC hatchet has stats of rune, and seems about the same speed as rune)
