I nod happily, and go with the other Renegades to the deal, waving my AK47 around happily, flicking a bullet in my left hand and talking nonchalantly to myself. I deliberately weird out the Renegades.

(Ross, do you think it would work to try and infiltrate the Freedom outpost?)

(Not really, it will probably get us killed. Best to report our findings first.)

When the event is over, I ask the Freedom soldiers if they can spare any supplies and then retrieve my weapons, walking off at an angle to the direction of the Duty base. When I'm out of sight, I turn and head back to the Duty base.

Karl:

You look outside from one of the bunker windows. There is some sort of aurora in the sky, and the ground continues to rumble. You see a dog running around in a panic, until it drops dead, blood running out from it's eyes and ears. Suddenly, the blowout stops, and the aurora disappears. It begins to rain. The professor states, "I didn't expect another blowout so soon. We don't know what the source of it is, but everyone assumes that it is coming from the center of the zone."

 

Stephen:

You wait until the blowout is finished, and then go with the two renegades to watch the arms deal. They meet two loners in an old shed, and begin working out the deal.

 

Earth:

You don't think that would be a good idea, so you wait until the blowout finishes. You exit the cave, and it is raining. You hear growling coming from inside the cave, growing louder and lounder.

 

Varius/Enigma:

The guards tell you that they are in the Freedom faction. As the blowout finishes, you hastily run out, and make it back to the Duty barracks, without any incident. You (Varius) realize that you kept your weapons with you.

[Earth]

oh... [bleep]... i turn around and back away slowly.

[Seraphi]

Enigma tells the commander about the defenses and then goes to bed.

Karl shows the artifact to the professor as well as the readings from the detector.

[Earth]

im guessing no one is gonna help me?.... meh, hopefulll i wont die.

Varius reports with Enigma, then asks about someone named Kimako. If the commander knows about them, he asks the commander to tell them about his inquiry and ask if they're interested in working with him and Enigma. Varius then goes to the trader and asks what he has in stock. He specifically inquires about thermals, scopes, camo, night vision equipment, and anything else related to stealth. If the trader has none of these things, Varius starts patrolling the base and practicing silent movement and camouflage techniques.

 

Also, do I still have my weapons?

 

Earth, if I knew where you are, I'd come help.

When the Loners hand over the goods, if they are able to do so, I shoot them both. If the Renegades protest, I tell them I did it for the lolz.

 

If such a situation is not available, then please move on quickly to the point where they've completed the deal/something happens which I can partake in!

Earth:

Two mutant dogs come running out of the cave. You were well-prepared, and open fire, hitting one of them in the heart, killing it. You miss the second one, and it lunges at you, but misses, and falls over.

Karl:

You show the professor the artifact, along with the readings. He says, "These readings are good enough. I see that you have also taken some readings on the vortex anomaly? Well done!" He notices the artifact in your hands, and grabs it. He begins studying it, muttering something. One of his assistants comes up to you, and hands you 800c for the two jobs that you completed.

 

Enigma:

You report to the commander with your findings. He seems quite pleased with you, and hands you a basic bulletproof vest (+1 ballistics protection, +1 melee protection). You go to the bunker and fall asleep.

 

Varius:

The commander tells you that Kimako was sent with a squad of two men to the boneyard to capture it. However, he hasn't heard from them since the blowout. The commander hands you a red-dot scope for your MP5 (+1 accuracy) as a reward. The trader tells you that he can sell you a woodland cammo outfit (300c), which can go over standard armor. You practice some stealth moves, and gain some knowledge.

Stephen:

The loners ask the renegade, "Do you have the goods?" The renegade pulls out two RPG-7s, and then motions the man to brings the money. The loner takes out a suitcase filled with 3,000c, and brings it up to the renegade. After taking the suitcase, the renegade begins to pull out the RPGs, but then suddenly pulls a sawed-off double barrel shotgun out of his trench-coat, and shoots the loner point-blank in the chest! The other renegade fires 4 rounds from his Armsel Striker, killing the other loner. You can hear several men outside, one of them calling a distress signal. You hide behind a window, and open fire on the loners, hitting one in the chest, moderately wounding him. You miss the second one, but hit the last one in the leg, causing him to fall over. The renegades grab the goods and prepare to attack.

Karl asks about the artifact and what it does (as a question purely for the sake of knowledge) Karl then asks about any other tasks they may have.

I continue shooting, firing at the Loner who is most likely to get away, and then the next loner after he is dropped and so on. After they're all dead, I loot their bodies, snarling at the Renegades I'm with if they want to get in on the loot.

 

We then cheerily return to camp, where I receive my reward, and if it's <2000c then I don't do anything with it. If it's >2000c, I buy an RPG launcher. I then find out about another job. If he doesn't offer me one, I nod sadly and decide wait for the next round.

[Earth]

i attempt the knife the last dog. i then open the bag. after examining the contents i go to find an area that i can mine.

[Nexaduro]

Varius asks the trader if he can pay what he has for the camo outfit, and the rest a bit later. Either way, Varius then goes to the commander and asks for another mission, preferably involving stealth and light combat. Perhaps support for one of the patrols?

 

EDIT: Varius also asks if he can go looking for a friend of his later, who he believes might need assistance.

Also, Varius asks for info regarding a faction:

"I've heard rumors of them. Powerful weaponry and armour. They're only at war with the Renegades and the U.N. I don't know where to find them, though, or even what they're called. Do you know who I'm talking about by any chance?"

Kimako asks the other men what happened, before going back to the bodies and examining/looting them.

Stephen:

You take a few more shots at the remaining loners. You hit the wounded one a second time in the chest, and he falls over, and slowly dies from blood loss. You hit the last one in the arm, but only do minor damage. Your two renegade friends, however, unload their Armsel Strikers on the remaining loner, killing him. You loot the loners in a hurry, as reinforcements will be arriving soon. You find 10 rounds for the AK-47, along with anoter 200c on the loners. Their weapons are all garbage, and are hardly worth anything. You run back with the renegades to the base, where you are rewarded with a cut of the pay (800c), and a M67 grenade.

Earth:

You run up to the other dog, and manage to slit its throat before it recovers. You open the bag, which contains 700c and a PDA!

Karl:

The professor tells you, "This artifact is quite useful! It absorbs minor amounts of radiation. Most people simply call it a 'bubble' ." You ask about any other jobs, and the professor replies, "We lost contact with a merc squad right when the blowout started. We need you to search for them, and hopefully find them alive." He marks their last known location on your PDA.

 

Kimako:

The men tell you that there was a radioactive blowout, which are very dangerous. You go back outside with the men, and notice that the bodies are not there anymore!

 

Varius:

The trader tells you that he will accept your remaining 240c for the woodland cammo. However, he has never heard of the faction of which you speak, and says that you are better off looking for yourself. The commander tells you that he has no jobs for you at the moment, but that you are free to do as you like.

[Earth]

hell yes. map time! i look for either a trader that sells mining equipment, or a mining area.

Karl loads his Mp5 and sets it on full auto before searching for the merc squad.
