BrutalxBrandon
Is void only useful fighting monsters with low def, or is it good anywhere? I use it at yaks and to chin but thats about it, I'm asking because I've seen people use at steel, black, and green drags. I wanna go to steels right now but don't know whether to use void or black d hide?
Dax
Don't use Void for Slayer, use it anywhere else that has little risk of dying/losing it. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod

So are you telling me its the best to use anywhere then? Or to just be careful with it, if so that didn't really answer anything.
brunokiller
Pking, killing bosses with a huge clan, low/mid level monsters(pc minigame itself, etc). non-slayer training, tormented demons. In other words, not really a need to get it. My blog
zotto
I used void all the time when ranging slayer, except the tasks where you need special headgear.
anonymouse_
Use it on anything with low def that doesn't hit a lot. Green drags might be fine, but for steels you should def be using arma/dhide

At the greater demons I can easily keep up with people with whips using void. Hellhounds; also works great in void. Dusties; doesn't work in void for obvious reasons. etc. But apparently you have a different experience. Which doesn't match mine.

Anyway, void is only good for a select few activities, and its not even really needed at all of those. So don't get it if you don't like pc, I did get both melee and range and I've barely used them really.

Full slayer helm/Focus Sight is 15% accuracy and damage to range, while void is only 10%. Ontop of this, you can wear Armadyl with a slayer helm to give you a HUGE accuracy bonus over void. Void is ok for killing things, but a focus sight/full slayer helm + Armadyl is far superior for slayer tasks. Like said above void does have some uses, but they are not that numerous. The major places it excels at is Fist of Guthix and PvP for lower levels.

BeNiceOk
I got my 99 slayer before focus sight came out. That's quite alright, and at the point in time you leveled your slayer void was the best option for ranging. However now, at this point in time, this is no longer the case. That is the reason for the statement on how void is no longer useful for slayer, because its not the best anymore. Not trying to say "you were not doing it right", because void was great at that point in time, but using void now for slayer wouldn't be a good idea :)

BeNiceOk
Well it can be *used* for alot of things, but isn't quite as efficient as it used to be, especially since the introduction of Extreme/Overload Potions since those can make weapons accurate without the need of void. The uses you should really be using it for is anything that requires quick hybrid of attack styles or little defense and lots of offense such as: Solo/Team TD'sCorp (If you wish to risk it)Large Team BosshuntingFist of GuthixBH and PvP worldsDuel TournamentsPest ControlSafe PvP minigames such as Soul Wars or Clan Wars.NPC's with low attack and high def are also fair game as long as they are not a slayer task. All good apart from the last one. Anything with a high def you need range stat bonus that you just don't get with void (unfortunately). Void works better on monsters with low def and the att doesn't really matter if you're safespotting (which you should be). give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
Kidd_Varrow
Basically, void is for enemies that have low enough defense that you can hit them most of the time. If you're hitting at least 70% or so of the time wearing black d'hide, you should switch to void. Chances are you're not going to hit that often at steel dragons, so stick with d'hide.
