The Dark Lord
Icu, You said something about giving me a few free techs in exchange for me helping you (sending workers). I won't pay for research since that wasn't part of the deal. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
The_Mather1
Using nanobots as weapons would be a waste, they'd be better of as androids or hull repairers. Rocco, we have railguns today, an they're simple to make. just hook a capasitor, a trigger and two conductive rails to a battery, screw the rails one bb-width apart, place a bb between the rails, wait for capasitor to charge then flip the switch. Also electro fusion is mine and is gonna be done trial and error with the tests far from people. Twitter: @TheMather1
Icuownage
Ok @everyone You do know right now every country is researching 100's of things RIGHT? Infact some of the prices we pay for on this game are SO OVERPRICED. I was being MORE REALISTIC. Also, most of these things we almost have in today's world, I say most, not all. It's not like I'm actually using the techs, just researching them And @Sere sure, but you pick what you research, don't make it big, I can't afford it. It's a REALLY big shaft.I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time? Mather stop suggesting rubbish. If you are in a battlefield situation trying to walk around with a bb gun, carefully trying not to break it or get it wet, and hoping that your 500 shots will make up for the weakness of the gun....Then your entire army are doomed. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Icu, any one of us could have decided "I'll make over 25 projects and put 5 billion into each of them, instead of 10 projects with more money". You didn't really think of any system, you took the existing system overboard. Pretty far overboard, actually. Call me when you hit the Bermuda Triangle. Sometimes, you need to sacrifice realism for gameplay. Just because some of us doen't have the time to micromanage hundereds of projects doesn't mean we should be limited because of it. They can eat through any material basically, and you can't really kill them. And they can duplicate themselves. Hegemony-Spain
Icuownage
Not all nanobots duplicate, that research would take 60 years IMO. Ok if Archi has a problem, he can PM me. I don't see the big deal, if its such a big deal I'll cut it down, like I said. I hate being poor and weak, I want to get to the exciting bit faster, is that to much to ask? Seraphi
When it means abusing one of the games rules and long standing traditions (I don't think we've ever had a scenario where anybody was researching any more than like, 12 things at once before), then yeah, kinda. The Dark Lord
We should be able to research whatever we want without any caps on the projects that we can have at a time. If you are creative and can afford it, go for it. @Icu, I will get back to you with that. I just need to think of some projects that I wouldn't mind you doing for me. Icuownage
I make them pay if its a big one, if its a small one I'll pay for it. I'm not going to let someone make me pay like 30 billion on a project that I allow them to do. Also most places I gave out were for free anyway, so how about its actually really fair I do charge? You just make me think I should charge more. The_Mather1
The first was made by the US Navy. Doom, combining atoms and combining electrons can't even be compared, electro fusion even goes past altering the nucleus, rather altering the particles around it. So this is proto-nuclear technology. archimage_a
PLAN THIS IS NOT VIABLE CURRENTLYVote will be added shortly. [hide=FTL Wonder]Wonder: The Institute for Faster Than Light(FTL) Research Time: 120 yearsBonus: Halves FTL drive Research Time for the owner.Cost: 30 TrillionSpeeding up: Each country that gets involved will subtract 10 years from the project. Notes: Allows the research of the six main FTL drives FOR ALL COUNTRIES, all methods take 40 years and cost 5 trillion each. Description: The Institute conducts research into six potential faster than light modes of transport. Ships can only be fitted with one type of FTL drive...Excepting Stargates, which can be used by any ship. Please note the map will be 1000*1000, with 1410 diagonally. Also note that there are alot of stars...However colonies will still cost a lot. http://users.aber.ac.uk/lug9/hege/hegemony/starmap.pdfMap is obvouisly stolen.Earth is around 150,150. It is named Sol... Warp Drive-For people who don't like science and crap like that. Research increases speed and range. Starting Speed: 10 per Hour.Max Speed: 100 per Hour.No Ship LimitStarting Range: 100Max Range: 1,500 Tachyon Jump Gates-The Tachyon Jump Gate converts the ship into Tachyon Matter by applying massive charge. Depending on how massive this charge is, the ship will shoot across space at massive speeds(Instant travel), before decaying back into normal matter. Best of all there are no limits, you can fire your ships across the universe and have a small chance of seeing them again. The ships have ever increasing chances of disintergrating as distances grow. Research decreases chance and lowers the Max Chance.Range to Chance of Disintergration: 10 = 20%Max chance of Disintergate: 99% Flicker Drive-Inertia-less transport. Taking millions of tiny teleports every second, the ship moves through space at a pretty slow rate. Research improves speed, but also makes it possible to 'phase' through some projectile weapons. Energy weapons are uneffected.Starting Speed: 15 per Hour.Max Speed: 80 per Hour.No Ship LimitStarting Range: 50 Max Range: 1,000 Holtzman Effect-You are gonna need alot of Spice...Instantous travel across space, at a cost. The 'Engine' is a massive EMP generator, generating such a massive electro-magnetic pulse that it tears a hole between dimensions. The journey then needs to be carefully managed by so called 'Psion', as the entire ship's electrical system will be offline for the duration of the flight. The Psion will guide the ship using mechanical means, so that it will then exit the space between dimentions at the right place to reach it's destination. Psions are made Psions by ingesting small amounts of Spice, which costs a lot to produce, research can bring this cost down.Cost per unit: 20 Billion StarGates-These massive, 50 Trillion a peice, Stargates, will permenantly link one system to another system, with instantanous travel. However, because of the instability and power requirements there is a limit to how many ships can be sent through in any given year, fortunately these ships can be any length, but must be less than 200 meters wide. Obvouisly deploying the Star Gate can also take a long time.Ship limit: 10 ships per Star Gate.Max Ship Limit: 50 per Star Gate.Starting Range: 200Max Range: 1,000 Zero-Temporal Transit(ZTT) Drive-Sort of a cross between Stargates and Flicker Drives. This drive makes a series of 'Swallows' in which it flies into a wormhole which it generates. The Swallow will only take them a few units and it takes some hours to cool down for the next swallow.Starting Distance: 10 units (2 per Hour)Starting Cool Down: 5 hour.Max Distance: 50 Max Cool Down: 20 minutes. Wisp
I'd prefer just this solar system, and then no terraforming (to any large extent). Here are my suggestions to keep the game 'fresh' but not too complicated. Make a 'national' wonder (like in civ) that anyone can build, but have a set time for it. It allows building small bases on Mars (and other reasonable planets), so this way, there's a set time for research for space travel.Put some resource on Mars/other planets that gives us benefits we can't get anywhere else.See how that works.
