archimage_a
Ok, we will have a vote on it, after this vote. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
Wisp
Well it depends on the type of research. For what I was doing for a while, the Human Genome project, then money is all it needs. All it needs is more processing power, and that costs money. The more I put in, the faster it would go (in theory). Hegemony-Spain
archimage_a
There should be a difference, researching new guns is going to be cheaper than space travel.Hence why guns arn't included in the research thing, unless they are new technolgies, which would cost more to develop. If they were included they would take less time to research than space travel....So researching the Gun to level 1 would cost 20 billion, lets say, where as researching Space to level 1 would cost 80 billion, lets say. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. The Dark Lord
Maybe there could be different categories: Small - 10b a decadeMedium - 50b a decadeLarge - 100b a decade Something like that. New guns will obviously cost less and would fall into the Small category. Certain types of new military vehicles would be Medium research projects, and new space ships would be the Large projects. archimage_a
Or....We could ignore the new types of guns and military vechicles because they make no difference anyway, focus on the research projects and OH, what do you know, your system is exactly the same, except you want to keep a record of research into the Colt .45. http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Nero
Lol a wall around an island. The British Isles are already a fortress, provided you have a strong navy. Vienna Raszyn Warsaw Klushino

Seraphi
A wall around an island is stupid. It makes seige incredibly easy, providing your opponent has taken AA measures. Block the main trade entrances, and where normally they would find new ways to get supplies in, they would have to scale a steel wall. Lack of supplies, everyone dies. The Dark Lord
How much will the wall cost in total? It will cost in the neighborhood of 800 billion - 1 trillion for the island of Great Britain alone. I'm estimating about another 500 billion for the island of Ireland, plus the Isles of Wight and Man. Just a little note about the wall: supplies will still be able to get in. How will that happen? I'm not saying. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.

Icuownage
Well as in this game global warming doesn't exist, and each country seems to be independent. So he could remove all of Britain's countryside and replace it with large skyscrapers of vertical farming. Have infinite number of mines and such, so pretty much self sustaining. Seraphi
Errr....No. Not at all. Definately not. Global warming? Doesn't come into the equation. Needs more thought. Trade still happens. Though we don't keep track. As for resources? That's covered by trade. We assume that trade brings resources. So, infinite mines? I think not. Building thousands of farms. Destroying all countryside. Bad idea. Very bad idea. [bONUS POINTS IF YOU RECOGNISE THE SPEECH PATTERN]

Icuownage
We've all done things in this game that would lead to our impeachment, we're all very bad leaders. If trade still happened, India would be the richest country on Earth right now. IRL, India is catching up in GDP to America, which is also losing a lot of GDP. China and India are forcasted super powers, America is gone, so is China. Leaving me with the highest population on earth, by quite a bit, but we don't count that. Most, if not all cheap productivity will be done in India, I own a lot of countries where cheap child labour happens. Also seige wont be so easy, I mean he could even have the possiblity of delivery from space (sounds silly but it could work).
