HI GUYS.

 

Jad, the silliest monster in the game (for me atleast).

 

I yesterday got TzHaar task and converted into Jad killing task.

 

Needless to say, I failed at Jad.

The reason? Prayer lag. I switched to mage pray for magic attack when he had not hurled the boulder at me, yet I took damage and died.

I actually got him to half hp in ~20 seconds, started picking healers but died.

 

I need some advice with healers as they are my main problem, and some help with prayers too. (Healers healing Jad if they are close to him, even if I have attacked them?)

If I just were to able to get all healers and avoid prayer lag I'd be fine.

 

I have long range on and auto retaliate off.

 

Stats:

92 Range

90 Defence

95 Constitution

I remember when I did it I trapped Jad South-East and lured all healers North-East. Jad could no longer attack me and so I killed off the healers one by one.

 

I may have been lucky that Jad happened to spawn South-East, but I'm sure there are other way to trap him out of the way and take on the healers.

 

As for the lagg, nothing much you can do about it except maybe playing on safe mode and turning off all other applications on your pc if you haven't already done so.

I'm not too sure but I think it would be best to play it safe and finish the healer first.

Or you could not kill them. I only had 80 def and I used a zam book as a shield and all I did was lure the healers so that they were in a line away from jad and even though there were 2 on me, I just tanked their hits and concentrated on jad.

I Did it with a crystal bow

and barrows armour (karil) and verac helm

at 89 defence I handelt all healers and only had to heal once

 

as for the prayer your not lagging just not fast enough

I had it 2 (took me 4 trips to finnaly get the cape)

 

 

So gl m8t and read Muggys Guide on Fire caves in the Archive of wisdom...it has helped me tons

I suck at prayer swapping too. What are the minimum stats to tank Jad? How much would I need to dish out? Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread.

well i wouldnt advice attempting to tank jad because both his mage and range attacks have been known to slaughter anyone (hitting in the high 90's ). Just a suggestion im sure you do them already but whats helped me with getting better at pray switching is killing TD's.

Nothing beats practice but you could stand by an alter and watch youtube videos of tds next to your screen and swap accordingly. For TD's you mainly just need practice. The stakes arn't as high as Jad so if you mess up its not nearly as bad.

 

About tanking Jad, I've seen the less then 10 second kills and was just wondering what was required to tank him. Are extremes and turmoil an imperative? Is vengeance? I know Vesta's longsword is, I would buy it.

Don't bother tanking Jad, you'll just end up disappointed. #-o

Even with those stats he'd be hit frequently and I doubt saradomin brews would do enough to heal him. :lol:

Overloads, vengeance, turmoil, soul split, full d claw spec, and a lucky whip hit afterward and you might get a 7 second kill; You don't tank Jad, you just rush him.

That's if you want to blow the hour+ work you did to get to him; why try and finish Jad with luck when you can do it with skill.

I can sooo relate to your frustration and my only advice is keep trying. I also lag at Jad ( I guess that is what happens when you live out in the country ) and I have YET to beat him. I won't even tell you how many times I have tryed to kill Jad. Being a maxed out player it's a bit :oops: to not have that cape yet.

3 failed attempts? took me 14...

 

But it was definately worth it. I'm not that bothered with having 99s or their cape. If I ever get them it will be through my normal RS play, not because I've specifically worked towards it.

 

But I love my fire cape and if I were ever to lose it, I'd put everything else on hold until I got it back again.

 

If internet is REALLY bad (like it was for me) you can consider doing the waves at home, then logging out on wave 61 or something. Then relog in at an internet cafe or somewhere with better connection. If there's nothing in your town, just plan it for when you go out of town. The fight will take 6 mins max so it's not that big a deal.

Ideally, you'll just have to keep trying and trying until you get it right. Make sure you can correctly identify his attacks and act accordingly. Hell, if a lvl 43 can kill Jad, why not you, eh?

 

This is rather hypocritical of me as I've never killed Jad (3 or 4 times, never made it past healers :() Just stay calm and above all else, save yourself rather than get a hit on him. Muggiwhulpar has an AMAZING guide and there are numerous Youtube videos to help you out too. Try to look at it as a goal and not a chore.
