200,000+ Thieving XP per Hour...in LUMBRIDGE?

Are you bored of bandits? Is plundering a pain? Would you like to get lightning-fast Thieving experience in a cellar underneath an uninhabited two-story building?

If you've answered YES to any of the preceding questions, read on!

[hide=What the hell is he talking about?]

Good question. Quite simply, I'm talking about luring, assaulting, and robbing the poor, defenseless Coshing volunteers. These characters, located inside the newly opened Thieves' Guild, give 162 (2 × 34) experience, and can be looted up to four (usually three) times per knock-out. At a minimum, it will take you approximately 12 ticks (7.2 seconds) for a round. A more realistic number is about 9 seconds per round. Let's do some math!

3600 ÷ 9 = 400
3 × 162 = 486
400 × 486 = 194,400

Look at that! Using pretty conservative estimates, you can get 194,400 experience per hour here! Let's try and see how much experience you can get if you really concentrate.

3600 ÷ 7.5 = 480
162 × 4 = 648
480 × 648 = 311,040

About 310,000 experience per hour seems to be about the highest possible with Coshing volunteers, using Mousekeys and the likes. But I'll leave that part up to you.

  •
  • There are only a few requirements.
  • Completion of Buyers and Cellars
    • From Tiny Acorns
    • Lost Her Marbles (and by extension, 41 Thieving)

    [*]The Feud

As for what to wear, you really only need a Rubber blackjack, obtainable from Dodgy Derek in the Thieves' Guild. You can't use any other blackjacks on the volunteers. You don't need anything in your inventory, either, and you won't get any loot (other than Hanky points) from them.

[hide=The Specifics]

If you didn't already know, the Thieves' Guild is located in Lumbridge, as shown by this map.

Once down in the guild, you'll want to proceed to the large Central Hall, which is where the volunteers can be found. They look like this:

With your Rubber blackjack in hand, right-click the volunteers, and proceed to Lure, Knock-out, and Loot the volunteers. To lure, right-click lure, and your character will say something such as "That's the third biggest platypus I've ever seen!".

[hide=Hanky points]

These oddly named rewards are another bonus, albeit a small one. Every time you steal from someone in the Thieves' Guild, you apparently get a handkerchief. While you never see these in your inventory, you get Hanky points. Most NPCs only give one Hanky point per steal, but the Coshing volunteers (and the Advanced pickpocketing trainer) give four. You can trade these in for some Thieving experience. Unfortunately, there is a weekly limit of how many points you can get. The maximum ranges from 52 to 84 points per week, depending on your level, and you should be about to max them out in less than a minute blackjacking the volunteers. The experience reward for maxed points ranges from about 2000 at level 41, to 10000 at level 99. It's not all that much, but it's a nice little reward for doing next to nothing.

[/hide]

[hide=Conclusion]

Well, there it is, folks. 200,000+ XP per hour in Lumbridge, as promised. Good luck!

I apologize to all of the Coshing volunteers who will have to suffer through countless painful bruises due to my writing this guide.

Nice guide, but you may want to include some directions and pictures and such.

I'm going to, that's what the unfinished "Specifics" part is for. I just didn't want to bother taking pictures and stuff right then.

Bravo, nice thinking. Short and to the point.

Thanks :D

What about the fat dude? Is there any difference between him and the others? :blink:

I haven't really tested Fatman yet, but he gives the same experience for a loot as the volunteers, and it seems through my (very few) tests that he's harder to knock out. I don't know, I'll check that out more later.

Ah. Yeah, he doesn't often avoid getting tricked, but the other guys always are, and if they're the same, there's no point. I get it. ;o
