Nomads Req

I was wondering whether i can complete Nomads Req because i want to get my SW cape and also i would llike the 70 zeal so i can use it on prayer to get me to 80 ( getting 75 through d bones then 78 with my brd rewards and finally 79 with my NR rewards and ill get 80 with d bones). Also if i can i need a good setup / invo / method for beating the nomad.

 

 

*note* as i stated in the descript please dont just link me to any guides im already looking at a guide right now and Dont say " if u are looking at a guide you should know the setup" because most of the require void and i dont have that anymore.

From My Personal Failures. The best set up that go me far was

 

Black D hide top and bottom

Helm of Netz

Rune crossbow

unholy book

Barrows gloves

w/e ring

Ruby Bolt (e)

War Tourtise and Fighting familure

Filled with Sara Brews and Super restore

and 2 range pot

This got me to the end of the fight and safespotting

Basically don't stand next to him so he doesn't melee, I use Range pray (as d'hide helps against mage)

Brew when you need (follow by restores obviously)

When the mines start droppin, get out out of the way, be careful not to walk over one

When he says something about his wrath (can't remember his quote), run behind a pillar until the attack hits the pillar, then immediately start attacking so his LP doesn't reset

When he turns into 4, go behind the pillar, use this time to restock your inventory with brews from your torts (he won't reset his LP while in 4 form, so just wait until he combines into 1 until you attack), closer to the end of the fight, or when you have room, uncharge your helmet as well.

When he freezes you in the center (you'll be teleported there), brew over full health, and attack him, once you get hit, brew back up, and keep fighting.

When he goes to berserk mode, get rid of your tort, and summon you kyatt, and spam ambush scrolls.

They nerfed kyatt. Vulxai's setup is roughly what I used. I took a stack of diamond bolts for Nomad's zerker mode. For a shield, use a spirit shield, blessed if you can get, so you don't suffer mage defense penalties.

What they nerfed was the bug in which nomad would attack you. A kyatt still owns hard in this fight.

 

And if you're looking at guides that have things you're not willing to get, you're looking at the wrong guides.

 

This video is what got me through on my 2nd try (1st I didn't fully understand his heal move so I decided to home port out to not lose my accumulator)

 

BOB full of brews, about 10 NORMAL (not super) restores, 2 prayer pots, stack of diamond bolts (ruby should be equipt), kyatt pouch, kyatt scrolls, rest brews

PS. When I got him down to the zerker mode, I didn't even bother to attack/use restores, he was damaging me to fast so I just spammed brews and the kyatt spec. I've heard other people have done this as well

When did they nerf kyatt? I used it to beat nomad yesterday.

Inventory was 9 regular restores kyatt pouch I brought 1 prayer pot but i ran out of prayer when he got to 1/3 health or so. Rest Brews.

Relatively recently, more than a month ago. Not that it won't work but I've heard the rate at which you could spam has been greatly reduced. And yea, diamond does eliminate the chance of dying to your own ruby spec when he does the extremely high hit. (I lost once more than I should have due to that.)

200 each should do fine, with the accumulator. You should switch to diam when nomad is at lower health anyway.

I disagree with that, I just prayed melee and he almost never got a hit on me, though I didn't bring a combat familiar that has worked twice for me now. Also you might want to bring a BSS or DFS for more defense, but they are by no means necessary. Also, none of the guides that I've seen/used in the Archive of Wisdom (Gen and Reg) suggested void, try looking there again.

Well what I did was drink 3 doses of brew and then either sip of sup rest or regular rest.

I have to recommend bringing like 3 or 4 super restores just 4 pray and rest regular because they restore more and are cheap.

That's the great thing about the vid I showed you.

 

It demonstrates that if you hide behind the pillar at certain times (when there are 4, when he's charging for his 750 hit etc.) you actually have enough time to calm down and brew/restore before having to face him again.

 

Also, regular restore pots> super restore. Super restore is useful for prayer, but you won't be using that much here so you don't need them. Aside from saving you a crapton of money, regular restores restore more to your combat stats with each sip (iirc).

Super restores allowed me to pray mage protect and eagle eye thoughout the whole kill, meaning that I felt safer if nothing else.

on the decaying avatar is it better to range him with broad bolts or melee him with pro melee and prayer gear?

Sorry, poor choice of words, by that I meant that I disagree that the strategy you used is the most effective (Which you never stated, hence the confusion); I was just stating that for me that by praying melee the zerker mode was the easiest time to fight him. Also I killed him twice, using the strategy I partially explained, because my friend irl fails at bosses and so I killed Nomad for him as a birthday gift :P .

Not really. It is incredibly good in this fight. The special takes almost no bar, does alot of damage and theres nothing more to say. I don't know if the 99 summon one is better. (the steel titan or w/e it is)

If the scrolls and 2nds are being merched it's a fail merch. More likely there's just not much supply of them.

how many scrolls do i need? i have 29 i got from yaha a bit ago would that be enough or do i need a lot of them?
